[IV|REL] Simple Trainer for GTAIV

Hey again Sjaak I sent this post again, because I think you may have missed it. Anyway, I noticed that you can manipulate the camera angles whilst in the subway, and was wondering if you could add some sort of camera hack option in your next trainer version. I was interested to know whether you could have a fixed camera when driving option (ie; when drifting around corners, you have to be constantly re adjusting the camera view to see around corners etc). I was wondering if there was a way to have the camera in a fixed position behind the car like in other driving games like need for speed, dirt 2 etc, and be able to move the camera around only when you move the right analogue joystick or mouse? It can be very annoying to be trying to keep the camera behind the car when trying to perform a perfect drift, and all you can see is the side of the car! colgate.gif

Yeah good idea, it always sucked to press "look backwards" all the time, and my drifting experience was f*cked confused.gif

And maybe the same camera option for modded cars. You know the camera is usually set way too low, so that'd be sweet if it could be fixed smile.gif

@ Rob.Zombie, I'm glad someone agrees, I thought my newbee skills made me the only one to have that thought!! The look backwards button gets allot of pressing around here tounge2.gif It takes the fun out of drifting when the camera does whatever the hell it wants to, not to mention having to fight with it to try and see something!! sneaky2.gif It's hard to drift chicanes really fast and not see a damn thing turn.gif

It would be really cool if you could do something about it Sjaak!!! lol.gif

While pressing R (e.g. to reload weapon) on foot, there is a message "Not in car" everytime. Could you make it hidden, like other options? I'm using "disable all in-game messages", but this option doesn't affect that. Ofc, don't change the key for this option, because in car it is useful to push R for backward speed ;]

Maybe a quick suggestion, would be fun to have a .pdf file (or in Word format) with all the keyboard shorcuts on it ready to print on the printer, there's so many shortcuts that sometimes I lost too much time looking for the shortcut for a special function (lets say explode nearest car or set nearest ped on fire...)

Two questions.. Whats the noise I hear when the car is lowered? Also the new feature in the "add car component" is good that it tells you how many extras the car has BUT, is some has a car mod it won let them pick the new extra. So please even though its a good feature its not accurate if hey have a moddd car installed. there for they cant get the extras they want to use. Can you revert back to the old method?

I have a suggestion.

*Can you add a bullet time function with a hotkey assigned to it?

*Can you add a hotkey for "add force to player"

Btw very cool mod you have here biggrin.gif

Correct, that functionality is accurate for the original game vehicles, not for custom cars, therefore you can revert back to old functionality by simply setting

VehicleComponents=0 //Trainer mapped vehicles components

Not sure about the noise you hear when you lower the car, it works by applying a force to the car, so maybe that force is causing the noise.

@memfis, no.

@xmaners10

1) already present, Left Alt + num 0

2) will add this in the next version.

@ peterp

Yes next version.

@ megalomaniac and Rob.Zombie

May I suggest you try the first person's mod, it's a very good first person camera mod, that also lets you lock the vehicle camera.

@ WindedTrash ,

Episodic weapons can be used to add weapons (and even weapon models) or change existing weapons and have them spawn as episodic, the main file where you would add them is weaponsinfo.xml.

Tomorrow I will post the workaround that I got for these problems on this thread, as I am now certain it should work 100% on Vista and Windows 7.

Still no workaround in your thread or did I miss it?

I'd really like to use your trainer for movie making.

Sorry smile.gif

Ok, in a nutshell:

Unmodded game (original 1.0.0.4), no edited files and other modifications.

-Make sure your version of windows is fully updated, one update that you will need is update for C++ redistributable (KB 973923) and probably Games for Windows Live 3.2.

-move dsound.dll out of the GTAIV directory. (delete it, or move it to desktop for instance).

-create plugins directory as subdirectory of the main GTAIV directory

-move any .asi (like trainer.asi) into plugins.

-leave any .ini (like trainer.ini) into the GTAIV directory.

-downloadthis and put d3d9.dll and devloader.config into the GTAIV directory (this is another asi loader, that let's you load asi's from the plugins directory, another great piece of software by Aru)

-move scripthook.dll to: c:\windows\system32 if you are running 32 bits windows (x86) or c:\windows\syswow64 if you are running 64 bits windows.

If you happen to have edited some files (several mods require you to edit game files) you can also add filecheckfix.asi into the mix.

Hm didn't know FPS mod had the lock camera feature. Thanks anyway.

And what about the speed limit? Can you do something about that? smile.gif

I'm curious..will there ever be turn signals added to this? Since there is already the hazard light function, couldn't the two sets of lights be separated? I know I'm probably the only one but I would really like to see that.

First person mod is ok. I do wish you could manually navigate a camera position you like, and lock it there, as the default camera locking positions are too low ie: you cant see anything in front of you because the back of the car is in the way! turn.gif I like the view a little higher above the car, otherwise you cant see anything, which defeats the purpose of locking the camera in the first place. That would make an even better trainer function than the locking default camera angles in the First Person mod! Probably can't be done, but wishful thinking none the less! tounge2.giftounge2.gif

Iv'e Done all of this. I have updated Service Pack 3 and Windows live 3.2. I deleted dsound.dll from my GTAIV directory and made a folder titled "plugins" I moved every ASI file i could find into my plugins folder and deleted them from the main directory. I downloaded the devloader and have d3d9.dll and devloader.config in my main GTAIV folder. I Moved scripthook.dll to my windows/system32 folder. I dont have anymods. What did i do wrong or miss ???

For some reason d3d9.dll and devloader.config in my GTAIV directory hinders me from starting GTAIV. Any suggestions/Tips/Fixs ?? Any help would be greatly appreciated... sad.gif

^ I haVe no idea whether this works on XP (service pack 3). I know it works on Vista and Windows 7.

I am also pretty certain it is KB 973923 that is needed to make it work, did you install that ? Either download it from MS directly or use windows update, and set it to receive updates for other Microsoft products.

^ d3d9.dll should load trainer.asi, check devloader.xml, and see if the plugins directory is in the search path.

devloader.xml ?

The only things i got in the devloader was d3d9.dll and devloader.config

This was in devloader.config

<Plugins>

<Path1>.</Path1>

<Path2>.\plugins</Path2>

<Path3></Path3>

</Plugins>

Is this what you are talking about?

I noticed that the d3d9.dll file was d_d3d9.dll; I changed it to d3d9.dll and now GTAIV wont load...

Thanks for the help sorry about the trouble dontgetit.gif

^ it's no trouble, I must assume that it probably will not work when running under XP. I have tested this running Vista and Windows 7, but not xp.

Re-installed GTA IV, did what you said and my game doesn't load when I have the d3d9.dll in my GTA-folder, so it seems I have the same problem as CreeKalani.

I use Win 7 64bit Home Premium.

Trying to screw around with the shortcut target. Changing the way that the game opens IE: minimized, maximized, and normal. I changed it so there wasnt any compatibility mode and that didnt seem to work. Just screwed up my shortcut folder to GTAIV so i couldnt delete it move it or rename it. Its pissing me off. So i would advise you not to try that...

Is this a known issue?:

I'm building a ramp from Airport over Algonquin to Alderney. Until 60 spawned objects, it works fine, after 60 objects (or about this number, not sure) the objects only show up for me. Any object after the 60th is only visible for me, not for other players. Is that an antispam lock? Is it possible to disable that? Or is it a bug? I've got about 330 objects in use, and I'm only in Algonquin at the moment. So it'll take a lot more.
