Modded handling.dat

I've been a long-time fan of the heavy car mod throughout GTA from III right onto IV

I was excited to try out the newly-found moddable handling.dat and decided to mod my Comet

 

Here's the thing:

My Comet used to have that heavy car feature, but now it can't smash cars out of the way

 

-I've modded the handling.dat correctly by typing in 99999.0

-I've installed Aru's MagicIV patch

-I have the simple line typed in, but the Comet won't do its job

 

What did I do wrong here?

Any suggestions?

 

(I didn't just mod the mass, I also modded the buoyancy, top speed and drag)

I had a problem with the handling.dat file too when trying to edit, i changed the deform rate of the comet and it worked ok, but it screwed my game up and the cops wouldnt shoot me and i couldnt drive any other car for some reason.

 

I had to do a re-install so im not messing with the handling.dat again... stupid file.

 

but im not sure why yours didnt work beacuse mine did.
