Hello everyone

Most people says GTA IV with DX 10 is same as with DX 9?

Look...

I finded in GTA IV directory folders called...

Nvidia 6 series

Nvidia 7 series

Nvidia 8 series...

In every folder was same files, CarReflect,GarbageModel...

Then down i finded folder called AtiDX10

So is that DX 10?

Its have folders

AtiLow

AtiDX10

In ATIDX10 folder is files with biger KB and MB

So i think GTA IV have better effects on DX 10 dozingoff.gif

See that in your GTA IV folder

C:\Program Files\Rockstar Games\Grand Theft Auto IV\common\shaders

Heh i want DX10 for GTAIV smile.gif

Then you need Directx 10 biggrin.gif

Or if you have NVIDIA

Just find that folder and copy all files from AtiDx10 folder and paste them to your graphic folder

I paste them into mine

Nvidia 8 series folder

Enyoy with Dx10,not fully effects

I have Windows XP so i think it will dont have changes for me cryani.gif

Well, I tried to copy all DX10 files from the win30_atidx10 blablabl to the folder

win_30_nv8 and ingame I see a very weird water.

It shaking, not the game is shaking but only water since I copied the shader files.

Does anyone noticed this?

A bad job if DX10 not is supported.

Damn, mate. Aren't you banned? confused.gif

There is one less "A" in that profile tounge.gif

But look at his posts, same style of writing... many spams too. Banned members are not allowed to register with a new name as I know.

Ontopic: There's absolutely no use of DirectX 10 in GTA IV. The "atidx10" folder only contains the shader files for ATI DirectX 10-compatible cards (ATI HD 3xxx and up) but there's no DirectX 10 in GTA IV. Why are you so obsessed with DX10, Adika? confused.gif

Lurkingsockpuppet

That does not add dx10 to gta, its a set of shaders optimized for the ati cards with dx10 support like the Radeon HD 3850, thats why you have a set of shaders for each the 6, 7, and 8 series nvidia cards, as well for dx9 ati cards, all optimized differently. It does NOT add dx10 support, sadly..

BUT.. I have a nvidia 8800gtx, when I swap out the nv8 shaders with the ati_dx10 shaders, my game runs smoother with no added or decreased image quality, though its only a slight difference, seems to help some more then others, if at all.
