chngdman
alt+tab out and back in, it should bring them back. Now THIS is a real bug, we cant figure out what it is yet. I got it today and once before, and I think it is a setting in your video card hardware panel, but I may be wrong. Alt tabbing fixes it for me permanantly the two times it happened, but others find that they need to do it repeatedly throughout their sessions

BTW everything on my GTX 260 Core 216 is default right now
chngdman
As it turns out, I have this problem persistently now (ZackOx is going to bust a victory nut, prematurely, of course, as I plan to find the cause of our problem and a solution for us) I am convinced for now that it is something to do with our video card settings, but I have an ATI (sadly ), which was also at default until earlier today. When I responded, I had only launched once, hence I thought it was once. I've launched a few times since that post, and it's been persistent. My drive is not frag'd at all, we're good there. Mine looks a little bit different: oops, forget that screen shot, I don't have the issue anymore Can you try one thing real fast? I know it MIGHT make things run like sh*t for the test (actually, maybe not, nice card ) but set everything in your video card to quality (or Nvidia equivalent - cant remember their control panel right now) as that's what I did earlier and strangely I don't have the issue anymore. This isn't the "mipmap/quality" bug, but something else, and I can't be sure that changing my hardware settings was what fixed it (after all, why would it have been fine, started happening, and now it isn't, even though I hadn't changed my Catalyst settings prior to the bug?). It's worth a try and if it does fix it, you can start lowering one category at a time until you single it out. If it doesn't fix it, we'll need to look deeper, and I will actually be hoping to get this odd bug again in the mean time (no need for me to do the testing if setting your hardware to quality/max doesn't cure it, will help find a setting for ATI users if it does in fact help though). Man, this post is a mind f*ck, I hope you understand me? The only other thing I've done on my PC today was bitch at D2D for making me download a corrupt zip of Oblivion twice and then downloading the split zip versions and installing the game (slow day ). UNLESS oblivion somehow replaced some shared file that had become corrupted (fat fetched for a possibility really), I'm going to go with the hardware settings until you post back. Good luck! Also, before I go, for me, I didn't have to switch in and out and didn't lose tex after the first time at load - but as you confirm, some are forced to do it often.
