The Future GTA Police System

I think the new radius system is genius in its own way, but then again it forces you to leave the area all the time. And very rarely will the radar circle go away if you are hiding in an alleyway or something inside the radius. And the GTA4 cop system was COMPLETELY revamped. And there were some good things that came out of it...

1. The cops can be very cool in shootouts in this game

2. They attack pedestrians that attack you

3. The police lines are still funny as hell

4. The N.O.O.S.E. squad is pretty badass

5. Cops have more then just two facial looks now

Then there are the bad things...

1. After every crime you commit, you always get 1 star! Eventually this will piss you off after a while.

2. Even if you hide in an alleyway or behind a building or car, the cops will always know where you are as they magically "search" the area you are hiding in. And they will almost never give up!

3. If you try to help the cops in a gang shootout, you get a star

4. You can have 10 cops chasing you even on 1 or 2 stars.

5. It's hard to get out of the radius sometimes because everytime you leave the radius, another cop comes out of no where

So the cops piss me off so much in this game. It limits the freedom of your character. I say they revamp the police system completely. They could still keep the radius but they can also get rid of it because you should be able to lose your star if the cops can't find you, even on 3 or 4 stars. Also they should let you interact with the police more in a good way. Like you should be able to vigilante missions again, and maybe they can extend it this time. Like maybe you should do a huge vigilante mission like Die Hard where you have to storm a skyscraper and kill the terrorists and disable the bomb. Of course that's not really a cop mission but maybe you can also interact with the N.O.O.S.E.

Another thing is that you should get the good citizenship reward like in past GTA's. Like you can help them in a shootout and get money for it. These are just a few ideas to improve the cop system. I want to hear yours too. Fill up the list people!

Awesome idea.

Also, this will happen:

A new system will make players prefer to do NFS style high speed chases, will PIT manouvers, spike strips and rolling roadblocks etc. You can use a 360 degree style drive by system to shoot at cops randomly (Although this is sh*t hard) and they may try and shoot your tyres out (Even if they dont shoot at you) with their Pistols or shotguns in cars.

And maybye speeding tickets? Or do good old trick of pulling over, waiting to the cop is near your door, then drive off really fast, then he has to run back to his car to catch you.

Rather good idea.

Or, you can join the police deptarment.

You can do more advanced style viligante missions, like patrol the streets or get backup or something?

Maybye SWAT?

Maybe include somthing like what True Crime had which let you pat down peds and check for drugs and also make it so you can arrest someone and actually see cuffs go on and the person being thrown into the pol car.

I was really hoping in GTA IV that they would have cops shooting out of their windows to try and take you down (ordinary cop cars), it would be sooo much more realistic.

Only when:

No around and your in a car chase.

Your at a standstill and the cop just stopped, and others outside are desprate.

Omnia sunt Communia

1. After every crime you commit, you always get 1 star! Eventually this will piss you off after a while.

That's because pedestrians now have the ability to call the police. If they see you commit a crime, then they can use their mobile phone to ring up the police and report you in. It means a cop doesn't have to see you commit a crime to get a wanted level.

2. Even if you hide in an alleyway or behind a building or car, the cops will always know where you are as they magically "search" the area you are hiding in. And they will almost never give up!

You can't expect police officers to just look around, and if they can't see you, give up. The police will search the area surrounding a crime scene to try and find you. It's how the police act in real-life and I think it makes the game more interesting.

3. If you try to help the cops in a gang shootout, you get a star

Because you're breaking the law. Vigilantism is a criminal offence. Go up to a police officer in real-life and shoot a gang member in front of him, don't expect him to arrest the gang member over you though.

4. You can have 10 cops chasing you even on 1 or 2 stars.

Any police car in the search radius will immediately join the hunt for you. Sometimes this can be one or two cars, sometimes this can be ten or eleven. It all depends on how many officers there are in the area.

5. It's hard to get out of the radius sometimes because everytime you leave the radius, another cop comes out of no where

That's where hiding comes in. Your search radius will only expand if the cops see you. If you hide behind a wall, or something and the police drive past, then your radius wont change.

I completely agree with Jacky.

I would like some more realistic SWAT and NOOSE members. I doubt the SWAT would use those rubbish assault rifle style guns. I was expecting some real guns, and I hope there is in the next gta. I would love a nice M4 Carbine with a RDS. I was expecting that swat to be using them, and mabey for Noose, a grenade lanucher and AP ammo, causing very easy death in seconds, forcing you to take cover. But mabey you have brought some HP bullets, and your taking aim and getting some Easy 1 hit kills. That is what i would want to see in GTA V.

And also, Yeah n real life cops will look around, but they do not lock into you, I have seen it where they just run up to me when i am hiding, and they just got there.

The fact most people miss is that you play "Vigilante" missions. Not "Cop" missions. What I mean is that the police and a vigilante is something different. A vigilante is someone who takes the law in his own hands, that's why the police goes after you if you want to "help" in a shootout.
