Before I explain the topic, I just wanted to say I'm sorry if this is the wrong section, but it seemed like it did not belong in "Troubleshooting".

 

Anyways, I've been having some lag problems.

 

Normally, my GTA SA runs fine, but I wanted to turn up the heat a little, so I changed the game resolution from 800x600 to 1680x1050, which is what my computer's resolution is.

 

However, as soon as I changed my resolution to that, the graphics were MUCH better, but I was lagging a lot. The whole reason for this resolution experiment is so I could see if my computer could handle the ENB Series graphics mod.

 

Here's my specs.

 

OS: Windows Vista Home Premium

Model: Acer Aspire M5640

3GB RAM

Graphics Card: ATI Radeon HD 3450

When I changed to 1680x1050 resolution at first it lagged, but then I turned off "Widescreen" and it seemed better.

 

My basic questions are like this: Are there any things I could do that could dramatically improve smoothness of gameplay? I already put the Process Priority in Vista to "High", but still it's a bit screen laggy. I want San Andreas to be able to use practically as much memory as it wants, so I can load a 1680x1050 Resolution, and I want to be able to run that resolution WITH the ENB mod smoothly. It should be easily possible, as I have 3GB RAM. I've seen a video on YouTube of someone with 1GB RAM and their game was very smooth.

San Andreas is weird like this. Some times it can just lag for to obvious reason. Isn't really much that can be done about it either.
