Ma--Beast Posted January 17, 2009 Share Posted January 17, 2009 Hi all. I wonder if someone could help. GTA IV has some HUGE problems with its performance. It says that it requires the following as a minimum spec to run the game on a PC: OS - Windows XP with Service Pack 3 / Windows Vista with Service Pack 1 Memory - RAM - 1GB for Windows XP / 1.5GB for Windows Vista Memory - HDD - 16GB Free Space Video Card - 256MB Nvidia 7900 / 256MB ATI X1900 Processor - Intel Core 2 Duo 1.8Ghz / AMD Athlon X2 64 2.4Ghz The following is my current system spec: OS - Windows XP with Service Pack 3 Memory - RAM - 2GB DDR2 800 Memory - HDD - 250GB + 320GB Video Card - 512MB DDR2 Nvidia 8500GT Processor - Intel Core 2 Duo 3.0Ghz What i need help with is, that no matter what setting i put the game on or the system (via the Nvidia control panel) it still runs slowly. I first encountered these issues with Gears of War for PC and then later on with Kane and Lynch for PC. What i have noticed is that all of these games state lower requirements than what my system has but they all have performance issues. The other thing that i noticed was that they all are released or created or whatever by Games for Windows Live. If i play Crysis (which has the highest requirements of all the games listed above) It runs fine on high performance settings. Please can someone help and possibly give me a solution/s. I hear GTA IV is an excellent game and it would be a terrible waste to dispose of the game in a bin or a fire. It should be noted that your 8500gt is BELOW the minimum specifications, you should have either a 7900 or a 8600gt the 8500gt comes no where close to either card.
