Every day I keep checking the forums and the GTA 4 home page looking for some kind of apology or reply from Rockstar. I haven't seen a word from them. Are they even working on a patch. All I notice is people saying to check and update drivers on their computers. Mine are completely up to date. Even that beta driver for nvidia that rockstar posted didn't help. It's NOT OUR COMPUTERS ROCKSTAR it's you trying to make a fast buck at Christmas by releasing the game too early. This game doesn't even qualify for a beta. Good PR would be to at least post something instead of letting your GTA consumers just getting angrier. It sure won't help for sales on any future versions of GTA by just keeping silent. Twelvefield Posted January 18, 2009 Share Posted January 18, 2009 It might be better to check less frequently than every day. Less disappointment that way. I usually look in every week or so. Then I get seven days' disappointment over with in one miserable burst. I have the "the patch broke my controllers" issue. I am using a genuine X360 controller. Uninstalling the game caused a DRM problem where the license would not revoke. Like a dog that's waiting at the door for his owner who has been killed on the way home (a safe dropped on his head, let's say) I figure a patch to fix the patch might still be on the way. Every week I don't see a patch to fix the patch, I write a haiku. tvitch Posted January 18, 2009 Share Posted January 18, 2009 (edited) pretty scummy of them really. release a game, game is broken, complaints flood in, offer up one half assesd patch / "title update" which does nothing, if not makes things worse / introduces new issues, thoroughly hopeless & very little to no statements &/or no further assistance/support, complaints continue to flood in, few months later, release downloadable f*cking content when the origional game still isnt even f*cking working for many of us. yeah, i definately know who i wont be buying any games from anymore.
