Neither of the Las Venturas Miniguns require a jetpack... are you referring to the one in San Fierro? That one can be gotten by jetpack or helicopter (or parachute or any other creative way getting up there.)

No, the one in the building site in SE LV.

I didn't realise you could climb up to it. I always use a jet pack

I could get up to the second level but I can't figure out how to get any higher than that

Here's the video from rubregg that finally taught me the trick. If you've got a wanted level, I recommend circling around to enter the construction site so the bike will be protected and ready to use for an escape.

I tried that jump at the corner but when I didn't make it at all after a few attempts I thought it wasn't possible. But now that I've seen it done and know it's possible I can do it as well

 

I fell 4 stories the first time I tried it. But 2nd time I made it all the way up so now I can do the complete circuit to all 4 locations and pick up 1100 rounds for the mini-gun on every circuit. Yes, I'm doing it later in the game after I've done all of Toreno's missions. I like a bit of backup when I do the gang wars. I try to do them all with the sniper rifle but sometimes they just come at you too fast and too awkwardly for that and the mini-gun is the only solution. It's useful for when the cruising gang car comes into range as well

One problem with the pickup on the Kincaid Bridge - normally a helicopter will land on it, but while the barricades are up (before "Yay-Ka-Boom-Boom") the blades will hit something upon trying to approach, perhaps some invisible section of the barrier. This is on PS2 v1.

There's a fifth Minigun that no one here has mentioned yet... it's the one that's on top of the building that's under construction in Rockshore East, Las Venturas... it's also available from the very beginning of the game, and very easy to get to.
