Three problems, no solutions

Three situations on where my game locks up and ultimately freezes:

1) I'm playing the game and I go online. I play in free mode all the time so anytime I want to change the color of my car, I head to the Pay n' Spray station. The game crashes once a spray job is done.

 

Possible known problems: I usually like to play alone so I use a car spawner to get the car I need so I can just have fun with any car I'd like to drive. I don't use it online because it would be cheating and would be killing the fun of the game. I use it often and I spawn the cars. Most of the time, those cars are a color I don't like so I go to the Spray shop like I mentioned.

 

2) I'm working in the video editor. I take several clips from time to time but I'm making a movie, so finding the clips is time consuming since I need to load up many clips to see if their the scene I made or not. After I finish watching one or two of them, the game crashes with a: "GTA IV has stopped working, please abort program"

 

Possible known problems: I have been taking alot of clips lately, since so many random moments happen too often. Perhaps the space on my hardrive is causing this problem? It's a very blunt guess.

 

3) When I'm rendering a movie, in the editor, to any kind of format (Web, 720p, 1080p, etc.), it will crash eventually with this message: "GTA IV has stopped responding, please close the program"

 

Possible known problems: I'm not sure of anything that could cause this problem.

For me the uploading of the finished movie does not work,just get Upload Failed,and when i quit the game my entire computer freezes and i have to restart it manual.Man what a terrible port.

In my tweaks thread in my sig check out my experience with the editor and vista, I had more crashed in vista with same less gig mem as you, I dual boot with xp and have had no issues since using xp and the editor, not one crash all high and 720p render, all the errors you get were the same for me under vista.

 

Maybe render at medium textures that was my fix under vista, seems to me a memory resource thing.

 

I assume you have applied the patch as that seemed to help the editor somewhat, but all I know "in my own testing" it was super flakey on bombing out random in the editor on render which became un reliable for me, as I say "for me" XP with the editor is absolutely fine.

 

My "video editor" thread in my sig has more things about the editor and my videos, as you can see ive been using it a hell of allot and pushing it with content and camera work and all under XP = fine.

 

PS - any mods running can (not all but some) cause editor to bomb out even under xp for me, so make sure when you use the editor you killed of any mods that may clash (first things first).
