Alexis27
I'm sick of GTA IV not remembering my graphics settings and starting the game twice and/or deleting my settings folder. I've tried to make a text file called commandline.txt in my main GTA IV folder (where the .exe is), but the game pays no attention to it. My file looks like this: -height 600 -width 1024 -novblank -nomemrestrict -norestrictions -detailquality 25 -viewdistance 25 -texturequality 1 -shadowdensity 0 -renderquality 1 The other problem I've got is that I haven't played for a couple of weeks, and all of a sudden my game locks out some settings. I could play at 1024 x 600 AND medium render quality, but today I can only choose one or the other (it pushes me slightly over the GPU memory, but was ok before). I've always had this in my shortcut on the desktop, but it seems to be ignoring it: "C:\Program Files\GTA IV\Grand Theft Auto IV\LaunchGTAIV.exe" -nomemrestrict -norestrictions If I could just get my commandline.txt to work like everybody else I think I'd be ok. But it doesn't work! Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/392757-commandlinetxt-ignored/ Share on other sites

livilaNic
Try and use -availablevidmem 1.5, not norestrictions or nomemrestrict. Could even try using norestriction without the "s". Also make sure you have "hide extentions for known file types" unchecked in folder options. You might have it named commandline.txt.txt without knowing it. Just throwing sh*t out there. I've found it works much better with just availablevidmem 1.5, cause the game virtually detects more resources. When you use the norestrictions it still exceeds the allotted resources in game (turns yellow/red w/e the case). When you try and set above recommend. But with availablevidmem 1.5, when you try and exceed the recommended you can go a bit further. This has worked for me for 120+ hours game play. Good luck.
