gaspah Posted January 17, 2009 Share Posted January 17, 2009 So I got this game installed and working with Windows 7, now it does another one of its MAGICAL UPDATES, and now the bloody thing wont work again!! now when I run the game it says GTA IV FATAL ERROR: Windows Vista: Need to have Service Pack 1 or higher to proceed. BUT IM NOT RUNNING WINDOWS VISTA... The game worked ABSOLUTELY FINE the other day when I installed it, but you update again and again and I just get more errors and more errors and have to spend most of my time FIXING THIS GAME... I want to come home, grab my xbox360 controller, get my GTA IV disc, put it in, then play the game I PAID FOR. BUT NO NO NO, update update update update, cannot play the game unless you update, its just unbearable. this is the very last time I buy another game from Rockstar or whatever. If I had known I'd have to troubleshoot a new problem every week there is NO CHANCE i would have bought this EVIL GAME. Also, you cant exactly hate a company and piss and moan with a beta un-supported operating system not even out yet .... i mean, please. "Am I being punished" .... .... more like self harming to me. Because IT WORKED PERFECTLY THE OTHER DAY IN WINDOWS 7... but then Rockstar do another of their sh*tty unnecessary updates and now it doenst work. why on earth is it updated every few days? nothing is improving about the game or the way you log on... GTAMonkey2012 Posted January 18, 2009 Share Posted January 18, 2009 (edited) Maybe IT DOESN'T WORK PERFECTLY NOW SEEING AS THE UPDATES ARE ONLY FOR SUPPORTED OPERATING SYSTEMS AND THOSE USING THE SUPPORTED OPERATING SYSTEMS HAVEN'T GOT AN ISSUE WITH THE UPDATE, YOU DO ON AN UN SUPPORTED OPERATING SYSTEM ITS NOT TESTED ON ... I can shout too Did you search for windows 7 thread? maybe that will help, other than that there's NO SUPPORT FOR IT. Or .... don't update it and live with it, If I were you I would seriously think about putting back onto xp or vista than get angry at this stage. Top tip, in search type "windows 7" then go to page 2 of the search findings, if that doesn't help you then no one can officially.
