You need to take into consideration that Rockstar Games is not a single production studio. There are several different studios and one of them will always be working on GTA. There was a common engine used, but that was it. Bully came out during development of IV, lengthy as it was. Not at the expense of moving on with the GTA franchise, but I wouldn't mind seeing another Bully game myself, not necessarily one that has anything to do story-wise with Jimmy or Bullworth. It could be something entirely new. But that's something probably better talked about in Gaming Chat...this is GTA:NeXt. DLC and Chinatown Wars will be all we'll see in '09, but that doesn't mean something's not in the works right now for beyond this year. I mean GTA4 was smaller both in scope and size (land area i mean) than SA. So I just thought it was a weird choice to specifically talk about San Andreas out of all of the GTA cities. If I remember correctly the III series VC was smaller than LC right? Anyways I didn't really expect a new GTA in '09 but here is hoping for an early '10 release Actually, in the GTA III canon, VC is larger than LC. LC seemed larger than VC though because of lots of VC being made of beaches and not being really wide. GTA III era LC is 1/5 the size of SA (about 2.8 sq. miles), GTA III era VC is 1/4 size of SA (about 3.5 sq. miles), GTA IV LC is 3/4 the size of SA (about 10.5 sq. miles). SA is 13.9 sq. miles but can be rounded to 14 sq. miles. Anyways, I'm pretty sure that another major platform/full-fledged GTA won't be released until 2010 or possibly 2011. However, some of these R* rumors seem to turn out to be real. Here are two examples: 1. When GTA VC was released it was rumored that the next GTA would take place in SA. This ended up to be true. 2. Before Episode 1 pack for GTA IV was shown to public or had plot/character information released, there were rumors that the player would play as a biker. This was also true. Again, I believe GTA CW is going to be the only GTA released this year and no others are going to be released until next year or the year after. BigAmericanTitties Posted January 25, 2009 Share Posted January 25, 2009 people, stop complaining about DLC. its not like theyre going to release like 20 pieces of this episodic content. well have the next big GTA in like 2010-2012. also keep in mind its been one year since IV was released, its not like theyre goin to release a whole new game after a year. i know the did dat with VC/SA, but this is the next-gen and things are more complicated in the video game process. I stand corrected Anyhoo I was just wierded out that they specifically commented on SA and not any of the other cities. Makes me wonder if the neXt map will be about the same size as LC in IV.
