Lauris
Hi, the problem is that the textures are disapearing, you can see them to apear after you quickly turn around with your mouse. my system is: Intel Core2 Quad Q6600 @ 2.4GHz, Motherboard ASUS P5K3 Deluxe, 2x1GB 1333MHz DDR3 RAM, couple of 150GB HDD in a RAID0 and a 700Gb HDD, and of course two ATI HD3870, but I use only one, cause in CrossFire mode there are some problems with antialasting and v-sync I guess, because the lights in a game are allways blinking. so, why is it happening with the textures? I think my system isn't so bad, and besides, there are many people, who don't have this problem even with their worse systems
TruSake
you need a faster cpu, get a quad the textures aren't loading as fast as it needs to

FlipWillie
so... no suggestions? Are you running a 64-bit OS? It seems that XP 64 and Vista 64 commonly have this problem. This is my thread. Is this what is happening to you? If it is, I haven't found a "real" solution for the problem. The only thing that sort of works is running a program like Systweak CacheBoost during gameplay -- which fixes texture problem, but slows the game down to a crawl. Anyway, I am just waiting for Rockstar to fix it. If they never do, then I guess I wasted $30.
grimlock667
I also have the disapearing textures bug and indeed a prog like memturbo solves that problem, but after playing for 20 minutes or something the game lags and is just no fun fun anymore.... it seems to be a 64-bit os problem.... and people tell me "install a 32-bit os" ...uhm for one friggin game?? I've got a LOT of games and ALL of them work just fine.... so no me thinks... time for rockstar to serve their customers and fix the bad product, time for a new patch!! But my textures problem seems to be not as bad as yours. You see, in my situation the textures are not disapearing completely as in yours. So I don't even know if it's a problem or it should to be like that. The thing is, that when I turn back, I can see the trees, balconies (those for fire exit), windows and other stuff apearing, I mean the all building textures are turning from a very simple ones into more realistic ones. For example the asphalt in some situations turns into a grey path, with no details, no bumps and other stuff, you know what I mean? The textures don't disapear completely, they turn into very simple and bad looking.
Zefra
I'm having the same problem I just restarted to play gta 4 again, never noticed it before. My settings are tuned down for very smooth gameplay, so it can't be that the settings are to high for my phenom II 940 and HD 4870 1G vram. stressryan
note - over one full week since your post and no reply from Rockstar.. thats what they call customer service. The problem is not your machine it is the poor programming, lack of proper 64bit support and non-existant beta testing due for an xmas release. My advice to you is to tell all your friends either not to buy or to download the game via pirate sites.. the only language they understand is money. see my post here for more http://www.gtaforums.com/index.php?showtopic=394651
Lauris
Yeah... i was hopeing that the patches will fix the problems, but after the second patch there seems to be more bugs than fixes. What a shame
