grand theft awesome
As The Title States, I Would Like To Know What You Think Of The Nissan 370Z? Edited January 17, 2009 by grand theft awesome
Dup
I'm getting old (24 this year) and I reckon its horrid. I'm sick of H&S getting in the way of classic design. Give mea 240Z any day of the week, f*cked or otherwise. The 370Z was beaten with the ugly motherf*cking tree after falling out of it.
Picolini
I like it. Could use more power, but what couldn't? I like the redesign, I think it suits the car well.
-slash
I'm not generally a fan of this whole curved styling thing, but I can still appreciate a car like the 350Z, because it's heart is in the right place. That thing is just terrible, don't like a single thing on the exterior.
Kaj.
I still don't understand how Nissan thought taking a hatchet to the headlights and tail lights was a move in the right direction. Overall, I don't care how it performs. It's like a person with Down Syndrome, it doesn't matter how nice it is, or if it has good intentions. It still looks f*cking retarded. stretch.
bland. With those letters I'd rather have a 307 rcz. They've lost their sttyle, the ole 240 was gorgeous, these new ones just look like a tapioca version of the gt-r. Only porsche or lazier with designing. Waste
I stopped liking them when they went away from this design: Anything after is kinda meh. To add: ehl. oh. ehl. Edited January 17, 2009 by Waste
dog_day_sunrise
Shorter wheelbase, electronic LSD rather than a real one, and ugly styling. The rest is the same as a 350Z, which was pretty poor in the first place really. Don't know anyone in their right mind who'd pick one over an equivilent Audi TT, BMW Z4/3-series Coupé or Merc. tuff_luv_capo
Don't know anyone in their right mind who'd pick one over an equivilent Audi TT, BMW Z4/3-series Coupé or Merc. To answer your question... TT's American sales totaled only 18% of the 350Z's. f*cking everyone. I'm going to assume this is a troll attempt, considering you used an Audi TT and Z3 as examples. You might as well add the Porsche boxter, if you're going to use a brand-name to compensate for the sheer mediocrity and under-performance of the cars themselves. The 350 definitely isn't everyone's style, I've even grown to dislike it's cutesy frontal frame, but you can't compare a 285+hp RWD to a cramped bubble that roughly edges out an RSX and 90's 6cylinder mustang for engine output. I tried to be nice one day and park next to a TT so it didn't feel left out at a mall parking lot. The owners were just coming out, and I watched as they crammed into it, hunched over like computer geeks so as not to bang into things as they placed their shopping bags. It's like an ugly Beetle that runs the 1/4 in 15.whogivesaf*ck, only now you can tell your friends about it, because it's an Audi. The TT is an embarrassment to Audi, only possibly redeemed by the S-line that is out now, but not by much. I definitely won't be buying another Z in my lifetime (or Nissan for that matter), but I'd rather jerk off a horse while my grandfather watches masturbating than be caught driving an Audi TT or Bmw Cute3/4. As for the 370z, it's ugly as sin and not enough change to warrant a another 5+ years of a z34 generation. It's basically a 350 with a GTR wannabe complex. Sure, it's still faster than any of it's competition but so is the Srt-4, and we all know how well that lead balloon sailed. anus
Atleast It Looks Better Then This 300Z Uhh, am I the only one who thinks this car looks f*cking badass? Btw, the 370Z looks f*cking ugly. Nissan could've tried a little harder. Its just a 350Z with different lights am I right?

You might as well add the Porsche boxter, if you're going to use a brand-name to compensate for the sheer mediocrity and under-performance of the cars themselves. The pre-05 TT was a bit tame, but the newer one is a very different animal, particularly in 3.2 V6 Quattro form. Still, it's a littler slower than the 350Z; mind you, I'd still rather have one- especially in TT-S form, where it's much quicker. The Z4 has always been a better car to drive then the 350Z; In 3.0 form, it's faster than the Nissan (5.4 to 60 rather than 5.6, 0.1 off the quarter mile, and with an LSD out rear and more advanced suspention handles better too) The Boxter S, remember, is also much quicker than a 350Z, and because of it's mid-engined stance, corners far better too. All three, including the TT, are better built than the 350Z. I'm not surprised that lots of Americans bought the 350Z. It's fat, ungainly, wobbly, heavy and bland. You tube it. In its debut year, the 350z outran the Boxter, Rx8, M3, and S2000 around Tsukaba in a test to see where it ranked. The boxter wasn't even in the race, it sifted behind like a camera car. The only competition was the M3, which would have won if it wasn't raining because it couldn't get traction. Even the Honda did amazing compared to the poor man's Porsche. I'm not surprised that lots of Americans bought the 350Z. It's fat, ungainly, wobbly, heavy and bland. Are you serious? Even a broken clock is right twice a day, and 18% is quite the embarrassing margin.
dog_day_sunrise
The 350Z is 4 seconds slower around the 'Ring than an M3. Every motoring magazine I have ever read has placed the Boxter well above the 350Z. My own personal driving experience places it roughly equivilent with the S2000, which I thought was too twitchy and gutless under 5000rpm to be used on a daily basis. Conversely, I thought the 350Z was too wallowy for fast A-road driving, ugly, and felt too heavy. Also not a fan of the driving position. Ironically, on a wet track, an AWD TT would probably be much faster.

tuff_luv_capo
I guess we are at a stalemate. I've had a horrid experience with Audi, and my best friend test drove a Boxter last fall and ended up buying a G35 from the same dealership without question. IMO people are drawn to the names and then pushed away by the experience. There is a cult following of anything from those companies that basically says, "They may be more expensive, underperforming, and unreliable, but they are made with 'passion' and have nice interiors". The M3 is the only reasonably priced German car I'd ever consider, and even then it's styling is bland. It's no different than how the Srt-4 spiced up the neon. Same with the TT- "S", or Porsche Boxter "S". You can see a 3 series from a distance and wonder if it's an M, or see a Audi and wonder if it's an R, or whatever bullsh*t letter represents it- but you'll never see a 911, Corvette, 350z, etc and wonder if it's the "fast" version. THAT is true passion. PS: I will, however, assume you mentioned the Z3 and Z4 as a joke. They are the epitome of a "cute" sports car to get your wife since she's not serious about driving. They are the epitome of a "cute" sports car to get your wife since she's not serious about driving. Have you ever driven a Z4, or for that matter a Z3 M? An architect friend of mine had a Z3 M Coupé last year when we did our nurburgring trip in the summer, and it was wonderful fun- fast, poised, predictable. The Z4 is also a fantastic drive, particularly in 3.0 Sport and Z4M guise.
stingray.
Nooooo!! I love the 370Z. The Z4 is a girl's car and has been beaten with the ugly stick way too many times. I don't like the TT much except the new TT-S, which I love. TS, please use official images at least.

DC93
The 370Z's shape reminds me slightly of a TVR Tamora if you look at the side. Looks nice n'all but give me a 240Z any day over that.

tuff_luv_capo
Those lines are all over the place. This is very much the downfall of the GT-R (and possibly Nissan in general). The front and back are two different animals, like a transformer. EDIT- Holy sh*t I just noticed; not only are the headlights ugly, they bulge out as well. I f*cking hate that. Toyota has always done that and it's so nasty. Edited January 19, 2009 by Tuff Luv Capo
Benzoboy
Call me crazy, but I actually love it. Much prefer it over a 350Z, and just to prove there's no bias going on here, my uncle owns a 350Z. If there was one thing I'd change though, it'd have the be the rear plate surround, and the ugly reverse light in between the exhausts.
Ultraussie
Its an OK looking car, but it looks rather Ugly in Yellow, which is what has been appearing in most Australian car magazines like Wheels and Top gear Australia. Now Ive seen it in blue and silver I think its a sexy car and lol yer. Some of the lines couldve been better, but it still keeps with Z tradtiotion, and I think that it looks like a sharper version of the 350Z: the 350Z is the bogan in the sweaty singlet and all the muscly looks but the 370Z carries two throwing knifes and a gun and keeps himself well groomed and is getting around with the ladies. stingray.
I don't think it's ugly to be honest, but I guess that's my taste in cars, which may or may not be good. I don't like the 350Z. I applaud its performance, but the way it looks is just... wrong somehow. Maybe a little girly? I do like the Z Concept: I can't put my finger on it, but something has been lost in translation from concept => production.
