I'm so sick of all this complaining.

I had a hard time deciding whether or not to write this, but I think I will- whilst trying to keep it short.

 

I find it so annoying the number of people that simply go on and on in this forum with delightful statements such as "GTA is a crappy port", "F R*!!!!!1!!" and "unoptimized BS!!".

 

Now, I think this can (for the most part) be mainly attributed to two factors- age, and knowledge (which are not always interdependent). I have a background in computer science, and consider myself someone who is technologically educated. The number of people who I encounter on this forum who simply don't have a clue is astonishing. Now, not to say the majority, but well, there are many.

 

It really comes down to the fact that a vast amount of people don't understand how to correctly judge their performance output versus their performance requirements.

 

This is a relatively standard game in the sense that yes, at this stage of its release it does suffer from bugs here and there, but is it some "piece of crap unoptimized port"- far from it. It's a game on a technical level of sophistication we've never seen on the PC before, and that requires hardware that the majority of the average consumer base hasn't opted for yet. So now we can observe them, whining that the game is crap, simply because it wasn't tailored down to meet a more base level of hardware.

 

When this was released on the consoles, I could easily tell just how scaled down the engine was in order to produce even minimally acceptable performance. This is exactly the situation I foresaw down the line- it would be released, to a great amount of complaint, from a great amount of people who just don't understand how it works/what it needs to work.

 

Now that may sound elitist, but it is the sad truth. The bottom line is that people just don't understand what their computers are capable of, and what they need to be capable of.

 

And for god sake, stop calling it an unoptimized port, or even better, and emulated console game. It just comes across as dumb.

 

 

...but the requirement of RGSC is overstepping what I think is appropriate, I will say that.

I agree with you my friend but dont try to fight this unsuccessful battle. No matter what there are going to be ppl out there who will continue to complain even if it is so small that any normal gamer would just let it slide. Its just some ppl cant just like what they have they have to have more and more but even when given more n more they just want more n more if they dont they come on here and whine like little babies. But my 2 cents.

Something isnt right with the game when:

 

I pump all the graphics options to the max and then reduce all settings to minimum and I only lose 4FPS!

Well at the risk of confusing people that seem to think I am some sort of "Rockstar Lackey" I don't think we need a thread complaining about the complainers. Some people have legitimate complaints and concerns and they should be allowed to express them on this forum. It is just a question of balance, right now there are a few people shouting the loudest which is to be expected.
