THIS IS THE OFFICIAL WEAPON GUIDE

Fists/Held Item

Pretty self explanatory, use your fists to beat people up. You can also pick up bottles, bricks, cans etc. - and throw them. So dont just think guns and melee are the only things you can use to defend yourself.

Pistol

Basis: Glock 17

Range: 50 Accuracy: decent

Capacity: 17 Reload: 2 sec

Damage: 25 Rate: 3 rnds/sec

Gun Store Price: $600

Little Jacobs Price: $420

Developed in the '80s by Austrian engineer, Gaston Glock, the eponymous pistol went on to become the world's most popular civilian and law enforcement sidearm. Thanks to its polymer frame and simple, internal striker-fired mechanism, the Glock is both lightweight and extremely durable. The Glock has very good accuracy within its effective range, and one shot to the head is always a kill, even against armored targets.

Combat Pistol

Basis: Desert Eagle

Range: 50 Accuracy: decent

Capacity: 9 Reload: 2 sec

Damage: 40 Rate: 3 rnds/sec

Price: $1500

Little Jacobs Price: N/A

In 1979, Magnum Research Inc. set out to create the first gas-operated, magnum-caliber pistol. While the end product is generally considered too heavy and expensive to serve as a practical combat pistol, it hasn't stopped the Desert Eagle from becoming the weapon of choice for Hollywood (and video game) bad guys.

Micro-SMG

Basis: Micro Uzi

Range: 50 Accuracy: decent

Capacity: 50 Reload: 2.2 sec

Damage: 20 Rate: 15 rnds/sec

Gun Store Price: $1200

Little Jacobs Price: $840

The smallest member of the Uzi family was introduced by Israel Military Industries in 1986 as a security weapon to fill the gap between pistols and fill-size submachine guns. It lacks a bit in the accuracy department due to its short barrel, but the extreme rate of fire and capacity make up the difference. A submachine gun with a high rate of fire.

SMG

Basis: SW MP-10

Range: 60 Accuracy: good

Capacity: 30 Reload: 1.7 sec

Damage: 20 Rate: 15 rnds/sec

Gun Store Price: $2500

Little Jacobs Price: $1750

The Special Weapons MP-10 (also known as the PXP-10) is essentially an MP5 clone with a custom polymer upper. Not much is really known about it, as it's apparently made in very small numbers by an equally small and mysterious company.

Pump Shotgun

Basis: Winchester 1300

Range: 35 Accuracy: poor

Capacity: 8 Reload: 2.9 sec

Damage: 20* Rate: 0.8 rnds/sec

Gun Store Price: $1400

Little Jacobs Price: N/A

Based roughly on the classic Remington model 870, the Winchester 1300 line is also known as the "Speed Pump" series thanks to the short, fast cycling of the action. This feature has made the shotgun popular for both sporting and security purposes. It packs a punch at close range, but is ineffective at a distance.

Combat Shotgun

Basis: Beretta 1201 (?)

Range: 40 Accuracy: poor

Capacity: 10 Reload: 2.9 sec

Damage: 10* Rate: 2 rnds/sec

Gun Store Price: $2500

Little Jacobs Price: $1500

This seems to be based on the Baretta 1201 FP, but with the barrel of a military Remington 870. The combat shotgun has a much higher rate of fire than the pump action, and a somewhat longer effective range, but is not quite as powerful.

Assault Rifle

Basis: AK-47

Range: 65 Accuracy: decent

Capacity: 30 Reload: 2.1 sec

Damage: 30 Rate: 7.5 rnds/sec

Gun Store Price: $3500

Little Jacobs Price: $2450

A fan favorite. Same capacity as the M4 but not as powerful. Even after sixty years, Mikhail Kalashnikov's legendary AK-47 rifle is still a hard act to follow; both in reliability and popularity. Created with mass production in mind, the simple design and loose clearances resulted in a rifle that's practically indestructible, and that will remain functional with little maintenance or cleaning.

Carbine Rifle

Basis: M4 Carbine

Range: 70 Accuracy: good

Capacity: 30 Reload: 2.1 sec

Damage: 30 Rate: 7.5 rnds/sec

Gun Store Price: $5000

Little Jacobs Price: $3500

Despite some teething problems with the earlier M16 variant during the Vietnam War, Eugene Stoner's 1958 AR-15 design went on to become one of the most popular and versatile rifles in the world. Given its light weight and compact size, the M4 carbine comes in handy for urban combat and police work.

Sniper Rifle

Basis: M40A1

Range: 1.5K Accuracy: great

Capacity: 5 Reload: 1.3 sec

Damage: 75 Rate: 3 rnds/sec

Gun Store Price: $6000

Little Jacobs Price: N/A

The M40A1 started its life as a Remington 700, and was then customized by the US Marine Corps to fit their sniping needs. Strangely enough, the one in the game appears to have been further customized to use an external 10 round magazine, yet it only holds 5.

Combat Sniper

Basis: PSG-1

Range: 1.5K Accuracy: great

Capacity: 10 Reload: 2.1 sec

Damage: 75 Rate: 2.5 rnds/sec

Gun Store Price: $8500

Little Jacobs Price: $5000

The PSG-1 is one of the most accurate, yet heaviest and most expensive semi-automatic sniper rifles created. An overpriced piece of stamped steel German engineering; it does the job. You'll have too much money to ever spend by the end of the game anyway.

RPG

Basis: RPG-7

Range: 100 Accuracy: decent

Capacity: 1 Reload: 2.1 sec

Damage: explosive Rate: N/A

Gun Store Price: 15,000

Litlle Jacobs Price: N/A

This classic anti-tank, rocket propelled grenade launcher was first used by the Soviets back in 1961. It's remained popular ever since because of its durability and low cost.

Molotov Cocktail

Basis: N/A

Range: 35 Accuracy: N/A

Capacity: NA Reload: N/A

Damage: fire Rate: N/A

Price: $500

Gun Store Price: $350

Rag in Alcohol. Throw and Boom. Simple as that. Only takes one to cook a human.

Grenade

Basis: Mk2 grenade

Range: 35 Accuracy: N/A

Capacity: NA Reload: N/A

Damage: explosive Rate: N/A

Gun Store Price: $1000

Little Jacobs Price: $700

Hand held Explosive that can easily clear any room for you. Just pull and toss, but don't hold it for too long otherwise you will blow yourself up.

Baseball Bat

Basis: N/A

Range: 1.6 Accuracy: N/A

Capacity: NA Reload: N/A

Damage: 1 Rate: N/A

Gun Store Price: $5

Little Jacobs Price: N/A

More effective than the knife, but somewhat less subtle.

Knife

Basis: N/A

Range: 1.6 Accuracy: N/A

Capacity: NA Reload: N/A

Damage: 1 Rate: N/A

Gun Store Price: N/A

Little Jacob Price: $100

Fast but somewhat lacking in reach compared to the bat, the knife is still an excellent melee weapon when used properly.

* Damage stats seem to work on a per projectile basis. Since buckshot spreads, actual damage would depend on the number of particles which hit the target.

I think this will be a use for people so pin the topic mods

What makes this "official"? There are other guides out there with the same info but that doesn't hurt your eyes when you read it.

He's only made it in different colours to make the different types clearer.

And he failed completely. It looks completely horrible no matter what skin you're using.

If you go to the bar to the left you can see GTA IV under networks.

It has everything you posted about weapons right there. So thread

doesn't really need existence but whatever.
