Sometimes the FPS drop to single digits! I have the latest drivers and latest patch and still the game runs horrible. I mean i can max out Fallout 3 np, this game is just fu*"ing aggravating. Because GTA IV use 2.3GB Ram the remaining is for windows I have 2Gb and the game runs just fine for me...of course then again I didn't set all the settings all the way up expecting the game to run smooth as silk either. Tweak with the video settings, lower them by notches until you hit a reasonable performance (keep in mind with 2Gb that reasonable performance tends not to be high settings). Start out with it and see where you can go, I can't account for your hardware configuration but I would say probably lower the resolution to 1024x768 and go with medium/medium as well as lower the distance (depending what you have it currently set at). I run the game at 1024x768 and it really doesn't look much different aside from the screen size, I have it set at medium/high with 5's for distance and 0 for shadows. I lowered rendering to medium yesterday with little or no improvement. I´ll do some tweaking to the settings and see how many FPS I can squeeze. I run at 1680x1050 80/80/50/4 high/very high and I get avg of 45-50fps, NEVER below 35. Ummm, i think thats a bit over the top? His pc isnt top of the line, but I certainly wouldnt call it sh*t. Other games would play fine since most games are GPU dependent. But because this game so sh*tly coded, it needs more cpu power than gpu power.
