Baher131
http://www.psu.com/Rumor--Rockstar-ready-t...a0006124-p0.php I for one would not be too happy if they did this, because I think Next Gen technology is advanced and making a whole new game in just a few months may cause glitches and so on, plus they may not have the developers may not have the time to reach their creative goals. And I would be really pissed off, if I end up with a crappy GTA game, just because R* was in a hurry. A release date I could live with would be about February-April 2010. Girish
Why is it so difficult to search or even look a little harder down the same page? Nova69_7
If they did one at the end of this year it may feel rushed and incomplete - im prepared to wait a bit longer for a more polished n better quality game to be honest.
IJM
If they did one at the end of this year it may feel rushed and incomplete - im prepared to wait a bit longer for a more polished n better quality game to be honest. Actually, I'm not sure that will it would feel rushed and incomplete. The hard work was done in GTA:IV. The graphics, the physics and the development of the Rage engine. The groundwork is laid. And it's pretty good groundwork too. In technical terms I don't think they have much to do for the next game. It can be almost all creativity. The research and modelling of a new city, new cars, a new story, the motion capture, the voice acting, the music and scripting all the missions. Yes, maybe refine some areas of gameplay and fix the odd thing, but the foundation is mostly there already. Plus they can add all the features they probably didn't have time to put into IV in terms of side missions, things to do, etc. My guess is that they actually started back in April last year after they brought out GTA:IV for the consoles. It's probably not too much to expect that they might be targeting a release for console in the run up to Christmas 2009. Nope it won't. GTA VC was released a year after GTA III and it was awesome. Like what IJM said, the hard work is already done. The game engine is ready and they'll just build a new game using it. Garfield 2
And maybe optimize that thing... Seriously GTA IV should run smoothly on P4 3GHZ, 1GB RAM and GeForce 8400/8500 256MB.
GTA.MAD.AJ
http://www.digitalspy.co.uk/gaming/a142733...-christmas.html for more back up, even though Rockstar refuses to comment, but that might be a good sign they are slightly correct, if it was completely untrue, they would of atleast put the rumour to bed. But trust me, I know the Rockstar Slogan I read in an interview somewhere, 'We dont care about deadlines, we care about quality'. It would be nice to see, but wont the 2nd pack of DLC already take us through 2009 till they start working on the next GTA? they might of already started but the fine details would be done by the exact people who are creating the GTA IV DLC.
