On this sort of things, until I read something straight from them, my skepticism remains. And even then there are the chances for delays. Another question, if this is what it appears to be, is whether it will really be GTAV rather than another game in the IV series as Vice City and San Andreas were to III. Fall '10 sounds about right for VC to come out. Then fall 12 is PERFECT for San Andreas to coincide with the end of the world Remember, VC came out the year after IV, then SA was 2 years later. Yea, and not to mention, the same dickhead who said that he expects V in 2010 said in that same video that "26 dollars a share - this deal is done - ea will own take2" Out goes his credibility hahahaha. Girish Posted January 14, 2009 Share Posted January 14, 2009 The author of the blog has clearly stated that he's just 'guessing'. Moreover, I don't think the next GTA will be called V. R* will follow the same pattern after III came out. Since IV is a new canon and on a new game engine, subsequent games will be just an extension of what we've already seen in IV. This should mean that further games being developed on the same engine shouldn't take as long as IV did because R* already have a fair idea about the engine and all they now have to do is work around the existing frames. So, he's just guessing, and not very accurately from that detail. However, I fully expect Vice to be here at the end of 2010. If it isn't, it will be because of a public delay. That just proves what lousy "analysts" Wedbush Morgan really are when they can't even see that. You cannot have a next generation title on existing hardware. Period. GTA2 does NOT count. Prior to the 'predictable' economic downturn, self-appointed analysts have speculated for years on the potential likelihood of the next xbox being launched in 2011-2012. Say that did happen, which it now wouldn't under any circumstance, there is no way of knowing how that would affect the decisions of Rockstar Games, as there is no way of knowing whether it would be a generational leap or an incremental leap and the potential size of the install base within a given time-frame. These "analysts" have no more clue than you or I, when I state with absolutely no authority that the next console generation will coincide with the next generation of television sets and optical disc media/distribution format. Which is in part is determined by the speed of adoption (human behavior) which cannot be predicted and has been terribly slow. Economists know all too well that you cannot create models to extrapolate human behavior because humans do not make logical or well-reasoned decisions, which can be the only basis for these models on which they use to predict the future are founded. Could analysts have predicted the 'surprise' market dominance of the Nintendo Wii. No, because it's an entirely subjective and irrational purchase, unlike any strategy ever pursued by the big 3 in the history of computer games. The Wii along with the economic downturn have thrown a tremendous curve ball into the proceedings. The United States dollar could very well collapse within 2-5 years. Most "expert" guesses says that the most likely time for the next X box will be at least 5-6 years from now. I think it's very likely that GTA Next is going to be at least finished in 2010. Rockstar aren't stupid.. they have been preparing for the next game ever since they released 4. i guess they will start develop it when they are finished with the DLCs which they probably already have been for some time. Ok maybe not exactly like then but by then the game will most likely be near to completion right? Especially if they're working on it now and already have an established game engine to work with. To show how much people love this game, and even if they didnt have success playing GTA4, would they still be psyched to blindly buy another. I believe they would. Just retesting the market.
