I have just wondered for a while is all, if I can get things for my processor like amd has, and google didnt do much (might be my search strings tho ) I think the Fusion may work for intel too. Did u try it? Do, just in case. what it does is it basically shuts down all and every service, prog or driver that is not related to pure gaming. It also starts some other progs if they r installed (like AMD overdrive). I can see no reason why it shouldnt work with intel unless amd limited its use on purpose. I could also notice some fps increase, 2-3 but I didn't expect much with my amd 3800+ x2 cpu. also the problem with cars hanging in the air has disappeared, because textures are loading faster, probably. but I also have one poblem: car lights have lost their effect, neither my car lights nor the others seem to light anything anymore. is there a way to fix this? Did you make sure you had Read Only turned off? Can you outline your procedure of action? Thanks, I'll try to help. Just in case, please make sure you downloaded MY linked version, not the other mirror (thank you for the mirror HOWTO, it's just to make sure ) Ya I used your package and followed everything correctly from the included READ FIRST.txt. Turned off read only and pasted all the files in GTA IV folder. After replacing the original files also the game won't start. And 1 more thing, the filelist.PAK is less than 1kb while the original filelist.PAK is 13mb. Is it supposed to be like that? I told u before. Anyway, i used the exact steps included in the read first.txt. I'm doing everything correctly but don't know why the game won't start. If you happen to be around a safehouse, do it to have a fresh start. It takes a minute but can make it a tiny bit better. Not a radical improvement though. At least gives another chance to watch some hilarious TV . (By the way, don't think i'm mosahistic trying to use even the slightest chance to humiliate myself through numerous time consuming tweaks. Don't know ur specs but 15-20 FPS is still way too low. If I were u i'd low ALL settings. You're pretty stock, then. No reason it should stop working with mods like this, as I've tried that line before and it still loaded my game (I have tweaked files too, but for opposite purpose, probably adds more strain than relieves). Did you get your IV running again at least? For those asking: If you use the magic patch, or know "how to mod GTA IV/make it modifiable", you should be just fine with the depositfiles link from red_russki and install it like you would your other mods. Also, the same, and it goes without saying, is true if you do it all by hand (no magic, just files.txt and filelist.pak by hand), you'd end up with a package like mine. You guys doing it by hand I'm sure will have no problem picking through my file and red's is the easiest for you, but those of you not modding at all yet and just looking for performance, the package I've shared is as simple as drag+drop, no magic needed. However, if you would like to learn to mod, take a look at the zip again and see exactly what was changed. You'll notice I made the files.txt reference original files, and to reference it's own original self (all the .orig. stuff), while the game itself only references from the files with the original names (without .orig. lol).
