DeepSnoozer
Hey guys it's been a while (last time i was struggling to get 20fps's) I'm here just to report that i managed to get almost 30fps's @ GTA's benchmark by overclocking my CPU to 250mhz of FSP making it similar to a 4800 x2 and by using amd Fusion for gaming. I Noticed that on low memory systems the Amd Fusion is very critical because it disable some services that are useless. I also had to lower my settings a little bit, but not much! Check out for yourselfs and use this as a good reference and as a proof that if you are a modest gamer this old cpu would do the trick! For flamers and stuff: no there are no major slowdowns near the end of the game that prevents me from ending the game as i already finished the game with two endings. Here's the benchmark Text Statistics Average FPS: 28.57 Duration: 37.21 sec CPU Usage: 89% System memory usage: 81% Video memory usage: 94% Graphics Settings Video Mode: 1280 x 1024 (100 Hz) Texture Quality: Medium Render Quality: Highest <- Render quality doenst slow things up so... View Distance: 1 <- This slows things a bit! so i keep it on 1 Detail Distance: 1 <- This also slows things a bit! " it doesnt say here but shadows is 1 and traffic density is about 6" Hardware Microsoft Windows XP Professional Service Pack 3 Video Adapter: NVIDIA GeForce 8800 GT Video Driver version: 180.48 <- It now has the newest driver 181.20 i think, there's a slight improvement i am sure! Audio Adapter: Realtek AC97 Audio AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 3800+ File ID: benchmark.cli EDIT: When i said FPS i meant FBS (Front side Bus) Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/391877-30fps-benchmark-on-amd-64-3800x2-8800gt/ Share on other sites

chngdman
CPU to 250mhz of FSP FSB? That makes sense, that means you are running 1000mhz, up from 800? Makes sense to me, and anyone who knows what I'm on about when I type this Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/391877-30fps-benchmark-on-amd-64-3800x2-8800gt/#findComment-1058871923 Share on other sites
GTA_XP
You could post some screens. But anything on 1 is unenjoyable But sh*t happens. An 8800GT is great card, but not for bugged game. What if you lower the res a bit? 1024x768? maybe you should get some FPS. " it doesnt say here but shadows is 1 and traffic density is about 6" Of course it runs like a charm if you have it at 1, myself I can't enjoy the game with a traffic density lower than 40 though, like driving around in an abandoned city. Makes sense to me, and anyone who knows what I'm on about when I type this you're weird, anyway the 4800+ is a 2.5ghz cpu while the 3800 is a 2.0ghz cpu of course that the 4800 has a larger cache but in terms of how fast the clock goes i managed to overclock this as fast as a 4800x2 Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/391877-30fps-benchmark-on-amd-64-3800x2-8800gt/#findComment-1058873870 Share on other sites
