No I myself havent coded since My years in high school (Life got in the way) but i do know its hard and very hard to find whats wrong and fix the issues. Its fine with me for all of you to complain but i will laugh at all of your faces when the second patch comes out and it solves most of the issues that ppl are complaining about. IF you think that this games coding is crap go and look at all the other gta's and see how many lines of coding there is and how much they have improved since the first. More and More coding is being used for every release of GTA. So for more and more coding there is bound to be more and more problems at first. I just dont understand how so many of you hate this game just because of the fact that your low end cpu doesnt play it on high textures or plays it with a constant FPS. Just look at the f*cking game! Have you even witnessed what goes on in the game? Do i have to list yet again what can go on in the matters of seconds in the game? All I have to say is R* has made another master piece its next real thing to what reality looks like everyday in a city. (besides the major killing sprees) Zack you complaining over and over again isnt solving anything. All of you who have problems with the game just need to wait some more. The game came out for the PC a lil over a month ago. And in that month they at least made a patch and the GPU Companies have even made patches for our Video Cards. Thats progress to me. All of you who are using integrated Video cards Need to grow up and buy a big boy GPU Card. Cuz this game is Nothing but eye candy and if your Video Card cant provide to whats to given on the table then it needs to go away and be replaced with another. Me myself i have very lil issue with the game. I know this game isnt very well optimized but i couldnt imagine what it played like a year ago when Toronto was first porting it to the PC. Im glad and very impressed that this game runs as good as it does. Have you guys tried not to mess with the settings in game? Setting it by Default? Is your Nvidia Panel or ATI CCC panel set to default? Is your system bottlenecking? There can be many reasons why my game works and yours doesnt. THIS GAME IS NOT RESOURCE FRIENDLY AT ALL! Just like Crysis..... And to all VISTA Users. Have you ever thought maybe its the OS? Vista is just sh*tty for games unless you have a DX10 Capable card than i see no use for Vista At All. Try XP SP3 it works like a charm for me. All you ppl who have vista because walmart or best buy had it on the system you bought need to realize that Vista is crap. And Store Bought/Store Assembled computers are just Crap. This game is the future of gaming, Any game that can pull off Real Time Weather Systems, Day and Night Cycles, Real Time Reflections and Shadows, Traffic, Peds, etc.... And play at 40 fps and have very lil pop ins is just amazing. Just look at the difference between all the Games that R* has made between the first to the latest. Let the flaming begin.... lol. when gta 3 came out. direct x 7 was out and 8 was a rumor. there was no Xp yet, it was leaked like 7 is now. but cool they updated their specs. When GTA came out, it was a bogged down bloated piece of crap, my old soyo with a 700 mhtz processor and my mx4400 with 512 mb ram bogged down trying to play it, untill I found the patch. A lot of my computer friends didn't take up coding or wanted to because they don't have patience and they can't work on the large scale. Yes there is a lot that can wrong with coding. But that's why you revise your code over and over. If people were forced to be monitored, like someone watching over your shoulder the whole time, more chances to catch something bad before it turns into a huge mess. Have you played gears of war 1? If you can see someone behind you, and you fire, you hit them. A lot of people can't believe such a bug exists. It was never fixed until gears of war 2. But that's something that should of been noticed right off and never was. Of the 4 times playing gears of war 2 on LAN, I noticed the same bug everytime. In the scene where you are flying, marcus can turn around and fire with his back. Sometimes the controller's button stop reacting. It definitely was never tested (IN LAN) to see this problem. Vert101 Posted January 13, 2009 Share Posted January 13, 2009 (edited) Well like I said before, if you're new to PC gaming then guess what, version 1.0 of any game that is released is going to have bugs. Granted, GTA4 had a lot more than I expected but the first patch sorted most of those issues out for me (but not all issues). I'm reasonably happy with the games performance as it is. However I did have to build myself a new PC to play it, because my old one was just way out of date. I could see that with every new PC game that I bought. My old system was just not cutting it anymore; I would always be playing games on the lowest possible settings, but with my new system all those other games like Crysis, which ran ok, on the old system at the lowest possible settings; was running like a dream on my new system with everything set to the highest detail. But my old PC lasted me at least 7 years, and in all, it has served me well. If you have an awesome system and are experiencing problems, then in my opinion you have a right to complain. I played that game like it was game of the year, and they said it was coming to the PC. It made me one happy gamer. Then I get it and it's buggiest crap I have in all my games. Where the hell is our proper testing? I wish something would be done about this. I can't be the only gamer to find very critical bugs in these new games. I built this new pc specifically Fallout 3 in mind and when i spent over a thousand dollars on new pc parts and to play the game for 50+ hours to only see CTD's every 5 mins. I thought it was my computer till i realized that over 100's of thousands of ppl cant play Fallout 3 either. At least with this game we can play it. I can play it with my desired settings as well. Yes this game has tons of bugs but its playable in the most part. Just wait my friend when more patches come out. After the first few patches and yet this game still acts as it does then it would be time to complain. But for being V1.0.1 give it a break and just wait. To me i think all these games that have Windows Games Live, Is screwing up game big time with horrible memory leaks and what not. Same thing for Fallout 3. I think its Mostly M$ to blame for these games being like they are. NOT only is M$ in everyones business now but now any patches of any sort has to be "approved" by M$. To me i honestly believe they are to blame for this game being as bad as it is. I bet anything in the world that R* had a patch ready to be released but only to be denied by M$. I swear sometimes it just showed how crappy the xbox 360 was. But after the latest new dashboard, it doesn't freeze and doesn't lag much at all.
