Need help with modding on GTA: SA

Recommended Posts

I need help with mods that I have installed. The first three are cars that I have modded in the game with SAMI. They installed fine, no error messages, and the game loads perfectly. But when I go to swipe them, I press the Enter button to enter the car, and the game freezes and crashes to the desktop.

The fourth one is a clothing mod. I installed them in the player.img folder manually, and deleted and replaced the right files, and rebuilt the archive. But when I go to buy the clothes, after I've selected them on the menu, the game freezes with a snapshot of the door, the clock freezes, and CJ doesn't come out of the closet. When I go "Ctrl" "Alt" "Delete" and go to Task Manager, the game is "unresponding."

I have version 2.0, and I got the patch to fix the game. But now, I don't know what to do. Please help.

Well, you obvisously didn't installed them correctly. Try to put new cars in game, but don't touch the text files, only use DFF and TXD. It may solve your first problem.

The second problem may have tons of possible causes... Glitchy mod, source files were read-only, it requires new lines in data files etc

BUMP

I want this fixed ASAP! For some reason, if I go and touch the .img files, the mod won't work. I tried installing the WTC mod and it wouldn't work a while back, and now this clothing mod won't work. What am I doing wrong? Please help.

Oh, and whenever I open IMG Tool, it says Failed to set data for ". Could this be my problem?

IMGTool tries to "bind" .img files to the IMGTool executable. Short: if you double-click a .img file, it opens with IMGTool. The error simply means that failed. You can solve that in Vista by Right-clicking IMGTool and click "Run as Administrator". You need an administrator account to do that.

To let the mods work you need to downgrade your San Andreas to 1.0. Version 2.0 checks how big gta3.img is and if it's bigger then usual, it crashes the game.
