has anyone modified the carcols.dat, i want a infernus that is orange and a SuperGT that is yellow, ive been through the color spectrum using Alex's car spawner and these colors are not available for these cars? if this has been posted elsewhere then for give me, i link would be cool

ive found orange infernus when i was driving an infernus and a lot of them came up i found that was orange i then don't know how i found a yellow one and when i got into the car the whole game crashed weird ah

Bernie will you give you his Orange Infernus. As for the SuperGT.

Open carcols.dat with notepad. find the line supergt. You'll find this:

supergt, 0,0,50, 3,3,2, 7,7,5, 13,13,13, 34,34,30, 33,33,29, 0,0,96, 40,40,41, 57,57,55, 70,70,71, 72,72,73, 77,77,75, 88,88,50, 104,104,107, 121,121,123

as you can see there are 3 numbers. First: primary color (usually the body),Second: secondary color (can be wheels, bumpers etc.), Third: the specular color of primary color (if the primary color is black you can add for example red and you'll get an iridescent red paint). So what you have to do is to change one of the first numbers into 89 (taxi yellow), or 127 (a bit brighter), so it should look like this: 89,0,89,

thanks for that, i recently aquired the orange infernus from bernie i will try what you said and let you know

after editing the carcols file the game refused to load!!, restoring the file the game ran fine again
