emorgen86
I have created all the necessary accounts (Windows Live, Rockstar Social Club) and linked them together but when I start social club and click "play" it simply minimizes the RGSC, opens and closes the dos prompt for launchgtaIV.exe, and brings up the RGSC screen. I have reinstalled the game atleast 4 times even turning off almost all other processes. The only way I can get GTA 4 to run is if I disable my network card and start RGSC in offline mode. It then will actually launch the game (which crashes after like 20 seconds, but thats another issue). My specs are listed below. I have installed Windows Live, Microsoft Framework, and even the title patch. This is a legit copy that I bought at gamestop with a product key and is not cracked! D. Eiht
@kmil120 I just noticed that you OC'd your CPU... Well, I've done that for myself, that's not the problem - but - I just forgot to set the PCI-E frequency back to normal (100(M)Hz). That results into random crashes to desktop (at least for GTAIV), texture-loading problems (that "turn-around-textures-plop-up-thing") and less stability of the whole system. So, you might get it, take a trip to your BIOS and check if the PCI-E frequency is set to "100" or "Normal" but NOT "Auto" or something similar. Hope this helps! emorgen86
I didn't see any settings to modify the PCI-E frequency. The only thing I found under video configurations was to choose which video port to use and it was on auto and I changed it to PCI-E. This did not help

I have all the latest Vista Updates 2. I have installed the latest version of DirectX 3. I just installed the latest version of flash player and the error still occurs. 4. I have downloaded the Title Update (patch) from the gta4 website and installed it and it did not fix anything. I have also reinstalled RGSC from the disc and the rockstar website. I have reinstalled the .net Framework and windows live several times as well. Here is my Direct X information:
