ThatsCool
Its because of your processor the game is bad optimized for singel and dualcore processor.
LiFe161
I thought that I know ... obs for tweaks already there? patch is somehow no longer ... Most of the tweaks I've made very little difference

GTA3Freak-2001
you cpu is too sh*tty i had that cpu 2 years ago and.. hm.. it sucks there wont be anything that will help you.. only buying a new cpu sry but thats the fact.. There's nothing wrong with his processor in general, its just in relation to GTAIV its not enough due to the way GTAIV was shoddily ported. So, if the game well ported, his processor can run it well too...
anus
Yeah, like others have said it's your processor bottlenecking your whole system. You might be able to get a performance boost by overclocking your processor but it would be best to get a new processor.
LiFe161
ah thanks I thought that already. hmm I have the game only because of the new graphics card purchase, and thought it is better so I am probably wrong. sh*t .. but the other games are running in high good thanks for the reply
anus
Other games may run fine, but since IV is so horribly ported it needs lots of raw power and is among the few games which are more dependent on the CPU than GPU. Your X2 just can't cope with a game like IV.

FunGt
I have a 3800 2.0ghz dual core and the new ati 4830 512mb and I run the game at 25-30fps medium settings.
punkboy459
go for dual +6000 3.1ghz processor you'd get 30fps outside the city and inside safehouse 60fps.
luceberg
Have you tried turning down the graphics settings. The default settings are quite laggy.
Kille72
i got 15-30 frames and my specs are amd athlon 3500+ 2,2GHz... Nvidia 8600 gts OC edition... and 2gb of memory

There's nothing wrong with his processor in general, its just in relation to GTAIV its not enough due to the way GTAIV was shoddily ported. This true. Even though it's old, his 4800+ will still rip through any game that is not a poorly made port. Fact, you can't deny it. You people are simply blinded by the fact that GTA (and other crappy ports) has distorted most people's perception of what your hardware is capable of. Like I said, even the good-old AMD X2 CPUs are more than enough for any (well made) game out there, and the ones coming as well. I have long stopped bitching about GTA 4's poor porting, because the game is what it is... just don't let it fool you into thinking your computer is not good anymore. Seriously. Wake up people. DamienStegman
Hi, I´m new here, hello everybody well, I have a x2 4200 (@5000) and a Geforce 8800 GTS (320) and I get 15-25 outside which makes this game unplayable, even on low settings. I tried the tweaks too, but nothing really helps. Its really bad optimized for dual cores like the other Posters said already. Perhaps a patch will help, I dunno.... Bye everybody !
