dinamodanci1986
I'd say somewhere in the middle of the Pacific Ocean.
Girish
Considering how it is surrounded by water on all sides, it's no surprise that you chose the middle of an ocean for its real life location. It could easily be the middle of Atlantic Ocean too.
[SM]CJZera
I'd say it's a Clifornian island full of people who just love copying from other cities, making their own hollywood, San Francisco and Las Vegas, BUT with much more crime
chapapote
A mix of California and Nevada. End of the line.
Magic_Al
I think it exists instead of California and Nevada. The real reason it's technically an island is not because San Andreas is a story of an island setting, but because endless water is an elegant way to end the map. Rockstar tries to have it both ways. You can't see the north and east ocean from ground level in Las Venturas because the sea is hidden beyond ridges, because you're supposed to be thinking about Las Vegas not a coastal town. Yes you can go around and see it's "really" an island, but you can also see it's really a video game. I don't think we're supposed to think about the harsh realities of island life like isolation and hurricanes here.
ChillyPhilly
I reckon, geographically speaking, it would be quite a distance west, then south, of Los Angeles. Realistically speaking, it would be impossible for a state so small to have such a diverse range of climates and terrain types. Don't forget, it cannot be in the Atlantic because it is constantly said by people in the game to be the West Coast. Vice City and both III's and IV's Liberty City were situated on the East Coast, the eastern seaboard.
4l3k54
Los Santos - Los Angeles - West San Fierro - San Francisco - South Las Venturas - Las Vegas - East (LS)/Northeast (SF) So, i don't think it's in the middle of some ocean.
Mainland Marauder
It's just a condensed version of California with part of Nevada (Vegas) thrown in. If you had to think of it as being in the middle of the ocean it would definitely be the Pacific. Then again, some say California will break off into the Pacific one day... The Badlands seems to represent the interior and central coast of California as you would pass through on a drive from Los Angeles and San Francisco. Of course Vegas/Venturas is not really intended to be a coastal city, but if they had made the land beyond the hills appear solid, it would seem to encroach somewhat on the concept of a fully explorable "state." Just IMO of course. "You tell me exactly what you want, and I'll explain to you very carefully why it cannot be."
640509-040147
It never exists in real life, and I'm way too un-imaginative, so sorry. Post count +1 I guess it would be in America, since Carl frequently talks about America. It is Vegas, Franscisco and Angeles, I know, if it were to be in real life. You have a big ideas... But I personally think that it shouldn't have the un-avavible land in the game, because then you should disable the air and sea traffic so there won't be no vehicles entering that location.
