RileyIL77
Hey I used the Vice City MOD Packager Guide found on these forums to convert Knight Rider KITT and Knight Rider KARR to VCM files for easy install. When I install them I get that little box says it is installing MOD, but then the gray box on VCMM turns green and then immeditally turns gray again.... Any ideas why this is? I converted an actually '69 Dodger Charger/General Lee (Not the one that is just a SabreTurbo skin, but an actual charger to VCM and it installed correctly... So I know VCMP and VCMM is working... Plus I have like 4 other card MODs installed through VCMM... Delorian, Flying Delorian (Replacing the Maverick), Volkswagen Beetle, Bulldozer, and the 1989 BatMobile... I'm going to convert the HoverBoard to VCM if I can get KITT and KARR to convert correctly. Please help! (Also If I posted this in the wrong place please forgive me!) RileyIL77
OH MY GRAVY!! I created a VCM of the HoverBoard only to realize... After using VCMM for like ever.... VCMM doesn't MOD the MOPED/BIKES??? Great scott!! Anyone know if LithJoe ever updated VCMM from version 1.0 to include MOPED and BIKES?? It would be helpful... Also if he never updated, does anyone know how to get a hold of him to get the source code, so we could upgrade it?
RileyIL77
A programmer friend of mine said it might be possible for him to make another type of Vice City MOD Manager to include easy modding of everything. Especially all the cars, trucks, buses, and bikes/mopeds. I'll keep you all informed of this program and it's process, if he can actually find the time to do it. He does all the programming for his work, so finding free lance programming time can be hard sometime, but he said he would give it a try if he could find the time. occupant
I like the way VCMM works, and I currently use it for about six cars, and the DMagic wheel mod. But most of the cars I have changed out in the game, I did manually by editing the gta3 IMG archive. It's a little more time consuming and annoying to know that in order to figure out what I put where, I have to compare file sizes to my originals. I like how VCMM shows me what mod was placed as what in-game car. If the mod works, I get a green box. If it doesn't it stays gray. If I don't like the car, I uninstall the mod, and it's back to the original in-game car. If I want to restore an in-game car using the IMG archive, I have to go extract it from the backup copy, then add it to the current copy. Very time consuming. VCMM is a great program and with some more work could be absolutely fantastic for all sorts of game mods. I'll look forward to seeing updates. Oh, by the way, gtavicemods.com, the site used to download content while using VCMM, is no longer viable and is a search engine placemarker now. So, question, is it possible to change the target site in VCMM to something else, like thegtaplace or something along those lines, where there are actual vcm files available to download?
