[REL|GTA IV] Flying Nico .ASI

This mod will allow you to fly Nico around kinda like superman. It also allows you to adjust a couple flight parameters and some other information.

It is an improved port of my LUA version and seems to function more seamlessly than its Alice counterpart. smile.gif

(feel free to link a rehost of this)

mirror: http://www.gta-modding.it/area/index.php?act=view&id=320 (courtesy of FunGT)

TO RUN THIS YOU NEED AN .ASI LOADER AND THE .ASI FILE FOUND IN THE LINKED ZIP MUST BE PLACED IN YOUR ROOT GTA IV FOLDER (e.g. C:\Program Files\Rockstar Games\Grand Theft Auto IV)

I will upload a video when I am no longer capped.

I recommend turning on godmode before flying otherwise you'll dash your brains out on a wall.

From the Readme:

Here is a little something to play with. It allows the player to take

flight. I recommend using it with Hippiecommunists RAGDOLL mod as the

velocities you reach are higher in ragdoll mode. ALternatively you can

go up and drop down until Nico turns into a falling rag-doll.

I added the ability to adjust the acceleration, turning rate, and lift speed.

Furthermore you can view what the current acceleration (Acc), turning rate (TR), lift speed,

x position, y position and z position are by hitting the HUD key. All these values

are multiplied by 100. So say and X position of 50289 is really 50.289, and an acceleration of 153

is really 1.53 etc.

God mode is also indicated on the right hand side of the screen (when HUD is on).

Controls:

1 = toggle GOD

3 = toggle HUD (shows xpos, ypos, zpos, accel, god etc..)

Numpad 8 = Forward

Numpad 2 = Stop/Hover

Numpad 5 = Lift/Up

Numpad 3 = Drop/Down

Numpad 4 = Turn Left

Numpad 6 = Turn Right

Numpad Add = Increase Acceleration

Numpad Subtract = Decrease Acceleration

Numpad Multiply = Increase Lift Rate

Numpad Divide = Decrease Lift Rate

Numpad 0/Insert = Increase Turning Rate

Numpad ./Delete = Decrease Turning Rate

- Enjoy

edit: this asi may clash with other asi's you have if they use the keys in the previously mentioned key configuration (that or strange things will happen, like spawning cars as you fly around due to both scripts using the same key)

double edit: fixed the GOD not hiding with HUD toggle - updated dl link

also: possible bug with godmode disabling when game is saved or after cutscenes etc. will fix this up soon.

Is there any possibility to change hotkeys to my own?

Some hotkeys are colliding with my keyboard config.

Anyway awesome mod biggrin.gif

Sometime this week I'm going to migrate it over to the newer C++ hook framework. I'll see what I can do about addressing the Godmode issue turning off after cutscenes etc.

@kerwasa: any preference for keys?

This mod is great!

Having much fun with it. biggrin.gif

But the same as kerwasa, It's conflicting with another mod which I'd like to use. (In terms of key bindings.)

Is it possible to add a .INI file to the mod so that the users can define their own keys?

If not, I think it's best to use I, J, K, L for movement, and O, P, [, ] for adjustments.

Keep up the good work biggrin.gif

P.S. I noticed when I hold a one handed weapon, he drags his hand behind him with the weapon when flying.

Maybe it's possible to reverse this so it looks like he is holding out his arms in front of him like Superman biggrin.gif

Now if nico just had a jetpack model on his back it would be even sweeter lol!

This mod is working for a while, but then always crashes my game, but i can alt tab back and then just this mod doesn't work. Any help? I'm using alice.asi and some other .asi also, could this be the problem?

I'd love to use this, but I can't go without the in-game car spawner which uses Num 0, 1, 4, 7. sad.gif

I don't need the other options so it should be:

u = toggle GOD

o = toggle HUD (shows xpos, ypos, zpos, accel, god etc..)

i = Forward

k = Stop/Hover

[ = Lift/Up

' = Drop/Down

j = Turn Left

l = Turn Right

Agreed.

Either that key setup or a separate configurable .ini file with the Key Code Constants from here.

Absolutely great mod, only the keys are unacceptable. The Numpad has many other, more usefull, applications.

Other than that, kudos to you dude, this is awesome.

P.S.: the God and HUD options, as well as stuff other than up/down/forward/backward/left/right are rather useless. A light version maybe?

Vive La France

Is there possibly a way to re-map the controls? This conflicts with the Player Selector
