copperwire93
To R* I've got this ugly lamplight, i wonder if this erm... light effect normal? I'm running WinXP 32Bit SP3, it is retail version. I'm running the game with this settings Video Mode: 800 x 600 (60 Hz) Texture Quality: Low Render Quality: Medium View Distance: 20 Detail Distance: 19 Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/391246-512mb-geforce-8500gt-light-effect/ Share on other sites
Pixelated
Looks like sand. Strange effect indeed. Could be your card since it's under the minimum specs. What is your system configuration? Rockstar Toronto
That is not correctly displayed. Try changing your shadow density to 1. Another thing to try is increasing your resolution. ThatsCool
The 8500 is slower than a 7600 no wonder that those graphic bugs happen and the game must be slow as hell Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/391246-512mb-geforce-8500gt-light-effect/#findComment-1058864049 Share on other sites
freak2121
The 8500 is slower than a 7600 no wonder that those graphic bugs happen and the game must be slow as hell Actually 20-30 FPS seems normal to you after playing the game for 1 minute. One-time
The 8500 is slower than a 7600 no wonder that those graphic bugs happen and the game must be slow as hell Nope, I can play it flawlessly at 20-35 fps. With my own tweaks. Link to comment https://gtaforums.com/topic/391246-512mb-geforce-8500gt-light-effect/#findComment-1058864773 Share on other sites

One-time
I get this issue too, but it's not really a big deal though, because I like running my Infernus better than walking on the streets and shooting down peds. Maybe you're right, It's not a big deal. I should be grateful at least I can run this game with 20fps. chngdman
it is because you are running in 800x600, this gets less and less apparent and at 1680 is no more. Same goes for other shadows. This game is not made for such small resolution and will run just as good for you on higher resolutions (up until you meet your systems limit, yet if you are already there, it is time for new machine) and will never look it's most beautiful until you go to above 1680. It is no bug, that light and shadowmap or whatever is limited by the res. The bigger you go, the less lines you will see. One-time
Well, the 8500 GT won't run this game playable at above 800x600, and I even have to force the game running at 640x480 to get more than 25 fps. zosozoso
I dont think this is a video card issue because I now have the same problem with my hd 4850 running at 1680x1050 after i switched my ati drivers to the sapphire ones. Changing shadows doesn't help either. It might be an issue with my sapphire drivers, or (more likely) you may need to do a clean reinstallation of your nvidia drivers I didn't run driver sweeper, just used ati's driver removal program so that may be why.
