Sorkenlol
I read that the new driver 185.20 would have an option to enable Ambient Occlusion or something like that, but I can't find it anywhere in the nvidia control panel. Where do I enable/disable it? Googled it and found a picture of where it should be located, at the top of "Manage 3D settings." but it isn't there for me. Might it be that my graphics card don't support it? (8600 GT)
thales100
It should be there, the first option , and it requires a game that supports it, like FC 2. GTA 4 doesnt btw. It will severe drop your FPS when activated.

Sorkenlol
Weird.. Probably my gfx card, at the top there's only "Anisotropic Filtering" and then Anti-aliasing options, it's in alphabetic order so it would be on top. I don't care much for shadows and the like though, cause that's what it is right? Better quality with shadows or lightning or something like that? It would still be nice to have in games like FO3 that I can max with no problem and still keep good fps.

Kurgen
According to this discussion : Hard forum thread, it's supported in both DX9 and 10, and forthcoming versions, but only if the driver provides it, and again, only if the OS-specific version of the driver does. thales100
Ambient Occlusion adds realism to scenes by reducing the intensity of ambient light on surfaces blocked by surronding objects. It enhances depth perception by providing a soft shadow effet for objects based on their placement in the scene.
