mrgogetem
Some of you might remember me from my complaints about GTA4 on pc being quite sh*te and unplayable. Anyways i sold the nintendo and bought an xbox. the games great, love it. My question is my tv has a YUV socket that i have only just noticed, so i plug it in, colour looks better but theres no sound, is this something xbox doesnt use? any ideas what the best settings for a standard def tv would be? cheeers
Magic_Al
Component cables (what it sounds like you're using) will give you the best picture on a standard TV. Also, calibrating the TV using the THX setup on a Star Wars or Indiana Jones DVD that you play from the console will help make sure the TV's brightness and contrast settings are what they should be. The Xbox 360 component cable has a digital audio port on the console side of the cable and you'd need a toslink cable to connect that port to an audio receiver -- this would give you 5.1 surround sound. If you can't use digital audio then the cable also has white and red stereo RCA outputs and those should go to inputs on your TV. If you're not hearing them check the input settings on your TV.
