Dungeoncrawler
The i7 cpus have 8 cores; thats got to account for something. Dc The i7 has 4 cores that are hyperthreaded, not 8 cores. Number of CPU Cores - 4 Your right and I stand corrected... Dc
thales100
EDIT: Installed the new drivers. No difference Mmm interesting, 33 FPS MEDIUM - HIGH - 100 - 100, even at your res, is a poor performance. This wont allow you to max the game, thats for sure. Why dont you oc your CPU, put 4 Ghz on that ass dude ... Edited January 11, 2009 by thales100
dethred
i wouldn't suggest you to get a super-expensive processor such as Core i7, because it isn't better than a Intel Core 2 Extreme QX9770,in GAMING.For other purposes, I do not have an idea, but in gaming my CPU beats 965 extreme Core i7..just view the "Core2extreme versus core i7" thread in my sig for more info. and as for the 4870X2 , it's the fastest GPU TILL DATE on this Planet, named as 'earth'. it has awesome GDDR5 memory, what can you expect? He's high, the GTX 295 is faster, don't worry the 940 will make a dramatic improvement, the i7's were meant to be on GTA IV GTX 295 isn't much faster, and is slower at 30" resolution with 4xAA in most games. The 4870x2 is a hell of a card, and in GTAIV would beat the sh*t out of a GTX295. Considering SLI doesn't work in GTA, and Crossfire does, it would be like putting a single GTX260 against 4870 crossfire.
