Alex20
Okay so I remember someone talking about memturbo on these forums and im hoping someone can remember what the guy said or help me out. I remember him sayin check ur memory usage in game and take that number and he said sumtin about how much resolution it takes to run the game and divide them ? and that would be the -availablevidmem x.xx commandline u can put in. He also mentioned memturbo but i dont remember much of that part honestly
anus
You don't need to use the -availablevidmem command or MemTurbo. If you're getting missing textures, stop using the -norestrictions command. That fixed the missing textures for me. If you're getting slowdowns after a few minutes of gameplay use this topic's commands. They completely fixed the problem for me. This is a memory leak by the way, using MemTurbo won't help all that much really. This method is much more effective.
Alex20
alright will do but although I have two questions, im using -novblank & -availablevidmem I mean for my PC i still cant believe its running this great but I do think u are right, prolly memory leak. So back to the questions, what would happen if u put these two commandlines and the one in the topic u linked ? Also, in the topic u linked, he says high, medium or low, exactly what will be high medium or low ? textures ? anyways my game isnt really crashing anymore but im still curious to know exactly how to use the availablevidmem command just in case this doesnt work. thanks a bunch though
anus
The thing is, you don't NEED the -availablevidmem command when using the commands in that topic. If anything, it'll lower performance. -novblank is fine though, so you can use it along with the commands in that topic. Yes, by 'High', 'Medium' and 'Low' he means texture quality, so go with the command depending on what texture quality you use. Happy to help, good luck . Eroneouse
What does -novblank do exactly or even not exactly just a rough explanation would be good
anus
-novblank disables Vsync in the game. This improves performance, but the drawback is that you might get image tearing. It basically locks the speed the game renders at to your refresh rate. This doesn't affect LCD monitors AFAIK.

ron123
I posted the usa of a "-availablevidmem x.xx " and the memoturbo, first you can forget from the memoturbo, second "-availablevidmem x.xx " will make a usage of extra ram that wll solve bugs\textures problems but will cost more CPU usage which will drop your framerate. Cleaning your background processes will boost the cpu usage and will stable the game for longer time, Edited January 9, 2009 by ron123
How-To-Improve-GTA-IV
The one and only paramater is "-safe". You do only have to put this into your commandline and your game will run with minimized settings and full performance.

The tweak in that topic did nothing for me (low, medium, and high.)
