Master of Pain.
A month ago I turned on the phone and the lcd display lit up (shadowy black). I could blindly see some things, but the phone was still functioning as I could blindly make calls etc. I've taken the phone to a Nokia repair centre where they told me that oxidation has taken place inside the phone. Girish
So, what's the problem here if you have already taken it to a Nokia repair centre?
Master of Pain.
So, what's the problem here if you have already taken it to a Nokia repair centre? I've taken the phone to a Nokia repair centre where they told me that oxidation has taken place inside the phone. They said that the problem might continue temporarily, maybe the circuits has been damaged or something like that. I'm asking here if any of you had/knew what this problem is? anus
Oxidation? I don't think so. I mean how can oxidation occur for no reason? This is a VERY common problem in the 5310 and is related to the firmware as far as I know. A fresh flash of the latest firmware usually fixes the problem. The 5310 has one of the most buggy firmwares I've ever seen in any phone.
Drag_Drift
Have you left the phone somewhere hot or in direct sunlight? My friend had the same problem, and after a few trips to the Nokia Centre they found out that his phone's LCD has burned out from exposure to direct sunlight. He had a warranty of course, and switched it for another model.
