If they don't have money, well it's the same as being pirated. However you don't make your real customers mad, just like they did in this case. Kurgen Posted January 9, 2009 Share Posted January 9, 2009 I'm guessing here, but I suspect it has a lot to do with scaremongering of investors or shareholders by those who market copy-protection garbage, err, sorry, software. If several million >insert currency< has been spent or invested in a project, those ante-ing up will likely feel that their investment will garner greater return, since they are unlikely to be as clued-up on the downsides of it as we jaded gamers are. To them, a 5% spend on "protection" is worth it when the illusion they've been fed, that it will ensure maximised returns is bandied around at board-meetings.
