Vercetti Thug
1 gig of ram and running Vista? You need more ram just to run Vista.....
streetlifeg
err.. I got 4096mb ram (4gb) and can play it with moderate FPS like 30... 1 with Vista is way too low... And what kind of 2.7ghz processor is that? If it's a single core pentium 4 or AMD, forget about playing this game until you upgrade the entire system. Sorry.. You'll also need a graphics card that supports Pixel Shader 3.0. Really, just check out everything at www.canyourunit.com, select GTA IV. It will show you in which fields your computer is lacking. Minimum requirements are: Dual-core or better processor such as quad-core (single is too slow) 2GB of RAM with Vista, 2.5gb recommended Radeon X800 card or newer with 256MB is minimum, 512MB video memory recommended

Drag_Drift
You're way below system requirements. Some people run here on pentium Ds, and they have problems. Better change your processor and throw in another stick of RAM in there. What is your GPU?

emorgen86
It's not his computer that is the problems. I have the same issue with a quadcore q6600 2.4ghz, 2gigs ram, geforce 9800 gtx+. The only way that I have found to bypass this problem is starting the game in offline mode. Disable your network card and start up RGSC and it will give the option to start in offline mode. Skip the login and then click play. This time it should load the game. I'm curious are you by any chance on a wireless connection and is your game a legal copy?
