EdGein
I received my SR2 today and installed it, found many problems from the start up, loads slow and ingame it is just as slow as gtaiv, is it just me or is the PC game industry going right down the crapper? Are game company's pulling fast ones on purpose to force people to spend more and more money on their computer? when they really don't need to? Yes, I know my computer isn't exactly up to date... but an 8800gt and E6600 CPU aren't at the bottom of the list yet. I'am tired of spending 50$ on games that dont work, I think its better to download games now since we aren't exactly getting what we are paying for, it ISN'T fair, what they are doing is wrong, they should allow refunds on games now just to show the game company's we mean business and that will force them to work on their game a bit more. untill then I am putting my foot down on buying ANY GAME. *I realize that downloading games is illegal and wrong and I am NOT provoking any one to do so, what you do is your own business, and can not be blamed on any other person besides your self

Drag_Drift
No, the PC gaming industry isn't going down the ivory crapper yet. But the devs that make crappy ports and poorly optimized games will.

Exactly. Fall Out 3 looks and runs amazing on my PC, for example. But GTA IV... well I can pull of medium graphics with the occasional graphical glitch at a somewhat choppy frame rate. And if you're saying downloaded games are sh*tty, expect it. They can often be ripped poorly, and install incorrectly. And if you've got to go through hoops to get the game to run, it'll run even worse.
Girish
No need to be worried yet. It's only a couple of poorly optimized games that people are having trouble with. I can max out every single game that has come out uptill now except GTA IV which is still playable at an fps around 25 and I have a Q6600 + HD 4850. With a dual core and a decent graphic card, you can run most other games easily for at least another 2 years. Overclocking helps to a large extent. I'm thinking of bumping it up to max clock and memory speed (700/1200)...

Oh, I bet overclocking will do wonders to my performance but I'm not going to risk it unless I get a better wattage PSU and some additional cooling. The hot weather in India is not much of a help either.
ayushisrocking
The hot weather in India is not much of a help either. yeah, in terms of overclocking,Mumbai(that's where you live as far as i remember ) has a very very humid temperature, and it has around 30 degrees Celsius the whole year.. whereas, Calcutta(A.K.A Kolkata), (and no, i'm not a Bengali. i.e people from the state of west bengal)where I live, it has around 90% Humidity the whole year, in Summer we have a max. of 41 degrees celsius, whereas in Winter, we have a min. of 15 degrees celsius. These temperatures are getting worse day by day because of global warming. And the pollution level here in Cal' is among the highest. It is among the most polluted Cities in the world. And it's just because of the motherf*cking political parties.f*ck them. oh,sorry,i forgot that this topic is regarding PC gaming . Just like people who swear CDs sound way better than appropriately encoded MP3s.
