Typhus
Have you ever felt like every inch of you was wrong? That your skin and hair and eyes were ugly, cursed things? Have you ever wished that you could kill your grandparents just to wipe out every trace of you? I am the Nothing-Man, the Shell-of-A-Man. That was my name for myself as a child, I wrote it on my hands, on my bedroom wall. SOAM. Shell of A Man. And why is the man just a pathetic shell? What made him that way? The cruelties of the world? The tortures of his family? Or YOU? Yes, you. You egotistical, judgemental sugar-coated viper. Painting all your criticisms in cotton candy, Disgusing your barbs behind your smile. "Let's be friends!" You grin, hiding the knife behind your back. Well, my back is right here. Right here before you. All pallid flesh waiting to be carved. That's what you do right? You who take the food from my mouth, Defile my dreams, Ignore my suffering. Because YOU have had a hard life right? YOU suffered? YOU had it worse than me? No one had it worse than me! At least you had sanity to fall back on. What is there for me? What have I ever had? No one to love, No joy in my life. YOU are a wretch. Oh, how I loath your very core. But you cannot die, I see in you a kindred spirit, The same soul, in the same shell. Why? Why? Why? Why Do I Keep Looking In This Damn Mirror? Reflections are bad. They always show you what you don't want to see.
Eminence
Perfect. I love it. A very straightforward, yet deep and vivid poem. If I were to change one word, it would be this: Because YOU have had a hard life right? I'd simply remove it, as I think the question mark nullifies its presence and the line looks a little better without. I couldn't help but think there was a subtext throughout () but then realised the true meaning on the ending; either way, I loved it, really. Nice work, man. Great poem. Oxidizer
You keep looking in that damn mirror because I'm gonna assume you're good-looking. Seriously? Interesting piece. I like it.
