Firkon
Hey all. I know this question is asked now for thousand times, but i cant seem to find it. I also asked around on different forums, but i cant get the right answer. I just wanna have answer to my question, which i cant find anywhere on the forums or the internet. I have one computer with gta iv installed, im like 52% in there. But i have an another computer which i want to use to play gta iv also with that savegame. Just on the same windows live and social club account. So is there any possibility to get it there working? So i heard about the Xlive wrapper. BUT that program disables multiplayer (which i wanna keep playing) and i understand from it i need to make a new account. So is there any possibility to use that 52% savegame on another computer on same accounts and without disabling multiplayer? If yes, which? Second question. On the computer im playing GTA IV now with, i want to reinstall windows there. Maybe Vista. So can i just copy the savefiles and past them after reinstalling windows so i can play them again? This works also when i'm going to use Vista? (Yet i use windows xp) Or do i need a program for this too? If yes, which? I hope somebody can tell me about this. I cant find this question before on the forums and also not at google. So i want to have a clear answer i hope. - I wanna keep playing on my own account (Windows Live and Social Club) - I want to be keep able to play multiplayer, so i dont want it disabled. I really hope somebody can tell me about this. Kind Regards, Firkon
Girish
Afaik, there is no way to enable multiplayer and use the same save on another computer. If you would like to play multiplayer, just create another save without using the Xlive wrapper. You'll than have to keep on copying and deleting the xlive.dll file while switching between your single player save and your multiplayer save. There's no other way. In any case, I don't see this to be much of a problem. About reinstalling your OS, none of your savefiles will work after that. You'll have to use the Xlive wrapper to load those savefiles. Again, there's no other way.
Firkon
First of all, thanks for the clearly answer. So if I use the Xlive wrapper to import savegames i will not be able to play online. So what do i have to do to still keep playing multiplayer? Starting new game and save and use that one for multiplayer? Doesn't it work when i import te savegame with the wrapper and let it work, then delete the xlive.dll file? Or what will go wrong in that way? Well i believe you when you say there is no way, so im sure this wont work also.. Well im disappointed in R* for making this hard savegame thingy. They had better could make a savegame which is saved on your account online, so you can login everywhere and load a savegame.
