nice to bad i dont have a 9800GTX+

now im really regretting not going with nvidia although so far none of my ATI cards have broke and i have had good overclocks

nvidia seem to be pulling in front there driver releases have been amazing with performance and have become way more frequent as well as Physx

ATI drivers have been nothing but a pile of crap!! ATI was my only option though i could only fit the custom sapphire 4850 into my case as it has been made slightly smaller, the 9800gtx+ would have been to big sad.gif

Since the 181.00 drivers worked best for me, im sure these drivers will suite me to the ground

P.S These are available directly on Nvidia too (scratch that... nvidia must be uploading or something since the file is 4mb)

theses drivers are not an improvement like its predecessors!

NV only brought them out cause of the release of their new Card!

Nothing much

true but it doesn't mean they haven't also tweaked the drivers to get better performance in the most popular games. actually, they do that quite often.

This doesn't fix anything. All this does is make R* laugh while everyone scrambles for the 'improvements'.

It doesn't even MENTION GTA4.

Dont mention GTA4 but that doesnt mean that the game run better... because i notice that the graphic card now handle much better the texture rendering and view distance... its a graphic card work...

which, yet again, doesn't necessarily mean there is no improvement. have you even tried the driver? I'm downloading it at the moment, I'll come back to you when I've tested them.

I have. All it does is when you boot up the computer it posts in a big BSOD:

Not tried in GTA but they pushed my 3DMark Vantage score up to P27,454 from P26,650

Edit : As expected, no change in GTA but at least they arent beta drivers..

185.20 where a load of Cr*p with lots of problems, these work just as well as 181.00 if not a touch better.

Please check if the 181.20 is faster or slower then the 185.20 beta?

why they release smaller number (older version)?

I don't know. Maybe you can disable that nview and start another useless thread on how it worked wonders for you.

I already explained in that thread why I was wrong.

well, I gained about 3 fps in the benchmark, which is hardly a miracle, but it's an improvement nonetheless.

the game also feels more fluid, animation wise and the textures seem a bit sharper than before, but that could be a mild case of placebo. smile.gif

If you read the "Exciting New Features" of the 180.48 and the 181.20,

there aren't any new features other than the added support for the 285, 295 cards and CUDA apps.

Yeah you already made the same nonsensical joke about 5,000 times and it's still not any funnier nor clearer. Next.

At least i can finally get rid of beta 180.84 drivers for a beta game.

EDIT: Oh no, SR2 is "future proof" too biggrin.gif .

Right on the mark, sir. Placebo effect all around.

okay. so... why do you hate those drivers so much? biggrin.gif

more on topic, if I could go from 33 fps to 36 just by installing these, wouldn't those few fps matter to some less lucky people that get around 15/20 fps? or should they stick to the previous version because, for some reason, you don't want us to test the 181.20 revision of nvidia forceware drivers?

I don't hate anything. I just think it's sad that you're all seeing pink and blue elephants where there's nothing at all.

well, 3 fps is something. that's about 9% increase at 30 fps, actually.

isn't it possible that YOU don't want to see any increase in performance, for some mysterious reason (but I'm certain it's a good one). or does criticizing people trying to be positive/helpful make you extra cool?

You're awfully upset for some reason. What ails you, sir?

oh, I'm not upset. I post about my experience with the new drivers, state that I gained 3 fps, then later on, you tell that's there's nothing at all about these drivers. I think I'm at least entitled to disagree with you on that.

Everybody has different hardware, these things are going to affect systems in different ways.

Going from 180.48 / 180.84 upto 181.00 made a huge difference for my system and I posted screens and benches to prove it.

Subject to contrary belief and a load of posts saying how theres no way they could !

If these drivers help for some, good for them... let them be happy for god sake. If they didnt... then they didnt !

Im getting bored now of every other post being placebo, prove it, bullsh*t,

FFS Somebody was only letting us know a new Nvidia WHQL driver is available.

P.S Shadows with SLI enabled still disappear on my 280GTX's

This game programming is very weak!

doesnt even use SLi? so that new 295 is usless with this game?

in GTA's graphic settings doc it states the following :

SLI is currently unsupported. Support will be added through a future game patch as well as an updated Nvidia driver

So we are all still waiting on R* to keep its end of the deal with another patch !
