The Horror Is Alive

I just bought the game impusively on a "f*ck it, might as well" sort of basis.

My specs:

2.5GHz Core 2 Duo T9300

4GB RAM

512MB ATI Radeon Mobility HD 3650

I just popped in Disc 2 after exactly 25 minutes of installing the first disc (my HDD is 5400RPM). Another 25 minutes to go, peoples! Wish me the best of luck! biggrin.gif

The Horror Is Alive

Well, now I've got the Live account, I just need the Social Club account smile.gif I've installed the patch with a manual download, so no problems there.

I'll be putting EVERY setting on low first, then posting my benchmark results here smile.gif

The Horror Is Alive

30FPS is good enough for me!

Oops, something went wrong with the Live account creation. Oh well. My internet has been shaped in my on-peak time so I'll just wait for off-peak before signing up. Social Club still tracks your stats, right?

Anyway, I'm gonna start the game now! biggrin.gif *deep breath*

Defo check out the performance guide which was linked above..

Also, first thing to do is going into the 'Game' option menu and disable clip capture if you aren't ready to play with that yet (well worth it though).

It does help smoothness a lot..

I wonder how high the chances are to play the game without ANY problems, including technical issues, registration and copy protection. I know about a dozen people who play GTA4 on PC personally - and no one was able to say that he had no problems. Personally it took me 3 days to play the game smooth in midrange settings, now I'm really satisfied with it, but that can't be the way it should be, never.

So I think the realistic chances are around 5% and that's record breaking. What do you think?
