diehardlinux
Hardware specs: OS: XP SP3 Memory: 2GB ddr2 Processor: Intel duo core 4400 2.0GHz Video: XFX Nvidia 8600 GT internet: 3MB DSL So GTA 4 is very hardware demanding than the previous versions. I meet all minimum requirements. The normal game works ok enough to play it with out any crashes. The graphic settings are set to bare minimum. There is some color loss and other problems (graphic wise during game play), but this is expected with a nvidia 8600 (and yes I have just got the lastest drivers). The online game play is complely different. The game may crash is several different ways. As others have described, the game will crash saying PC is too slow (after ten minuts of play). Intense firefights cause the game to crash. ocassionaly there is a application event ID 1000 (Faulting application gtaiv.exe, version 1.0.1.0, faulting module gtaiv.exe, version 1.0.1.0, fault address 0x000f742a). So if the application needs better hardware to play online, it might have been a good ideal to mention it in the manual so that it was clear before people started jumping online. I am glad rockstar decided to write a new game, but a little pissed that they rushed it out on shelfs prior to fixing these problems and proper quality control testing.
