Mr_Prickles
I don't have GTA IV for the PC, but I am under the impression that you can't. I'm fairly certain I read that somewhere here on the forums, but until someone with proper credibility answers, sorry

Redemption80
Yeah, while Window7 is great, its pretty, its fast, its stable, your a year off before considering the upgrade, better to use a Dual Boot for testing Beta's but make sure you still have partition/hdd with XP/Vista on it as it could die a death at any time and with there already bugs with it permanently corrupting mp3's, id be safe. noVa
I STRONGLY advise you dual boot windows 7 this is the first beta version of windows 7 and any future releases may require you to completely format your hardrive in order to install future release candidates/retail. it would be a very idiotic thing to completely switch over to it, it is not stable as you say i have had 3 instances of explorer.exe (part of the core elements of the OS throw a wobbly and crash) but if you want to do it i can't stop you but don;t say i didn't warn you. Redemption80
Not sure what your comment about torrents mean, but whether its on a torrent or not, its still not finished, and wont be till the end of the year. To dual boot, either put one OS per HDD or create 2 partitions on the same hard drive, though i still feel your asking for trouble especially when there is a newer and better build out now. Loman
The public beta of Windows 7 is coming out on January 9th, Thats when I'll probably try it As for the savegames, it works for me with windows XP and vista. I assume you have to use the same windows live and/or RGSC logins, though.
bldrgnslyr
The public beta of windows 7 build 7000 is out tomorrow anyway, id wait until people review it before bothering to download and try it though.

CameO73
You can transfer your saves from one installation to another, but since each Games for Windows LIVE installation will create a new unique ID, you have to follow this guide. If you're not comfortable editing files with a hex editor, this can prove tricky... Oh, and the Windows 7 beta will stop working somewhere in June 2009 -- don't use it as your main O/S! (although it runs incredibly stable)

If xp is one one partition an windows 7 is on another partition. When you turn your computer on which os does it start on? it comes up with a selection screen it will say something like "Please select which OS to boot Older version of windows windows7" and you can choose which. need a primary partition made and then you can install directly from xp itself and select the free partition. If you don't have any unpartitioned space theres linux programs that can shrink an existing one but it gets a bit complicated and i wouldn't want to advise you to do that sort of thing. solrayz
I did the upgrade option last night from Vista SP1 to Windows 7 build 7000 and have had absolutely no issues with running GTA IV. Everything transfered over nicely. So give the upgrade a shot and make yourself a pot of coffee as you wait!
