EdmundVI
Hi all. nothing special but I used the two command line instructions: -memrestrict 314572800 -novblank I played solid for 6 hours before reluctantly shutting down to go to bed much to my wife's surprise. I tried the benchmark test for the first time and got the following results: Statistics Average FPS: 32.92 Duration: 36.97 sec CPU Usage: 91% System memory usage: 96% Video memory usage: 60% Graphics Settings Video Mode: 1680 x 1050 (60 Hz) Texture Quality: Medium Render Quality: High View Distance: 25 Detail Distance: 33 Hardware Microsoft Windows XP Professional Service Pack 2 Video Adapter: NVIDIA GeForce 8800 Ultra 768MB Video Driver version: 180.84 Audio Adapter: SB Audigy 2 ZS Audio [9C00] AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 6000+ AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 6000+ Having tried everything I don't believe this fix will uphold for more marathon sessions but I have to say what a fantastic game this is when it is playable. I have been trying since christmas eve to fix the game and I am waiting patiently for the 2nd patch which will allow me to play 'bug' free. I did notice that service pack 3 is recommended to play this game but as you can see, I am still on service pack 2. I don't know what the final solution is but I am just so f#@king pleased to have been able to experience a judder and freeze free session.... Keep looking for the 'Big Fix' guys (and gals). Drunk Russian 9
I'm getting similar results, if not better, to you. I'm still waiting on a patch for the stuttering problem ofcourse. However, my settings are 1680x1050, high, highest, and zero from there. Everytime I try to turn up draw distance it hits my FPS way too significantly. I suggest you try high texture settings with a multiplier because it offers the most graphical improvement and the least FPS loss(for me).

M_and_M
when I write a commandline, I can't do the benchmarking test.....anyone knows how to do it, or should I make a new thread?
EdmundVI
Don't write a command line. Make a shortcut to LaunchGTA IV and put it on your desktop. Right click on your launch GTA IV icon and select propeties. Look under the shortcut tab and where it says 'Target' change it to something like: "C:\Program Files\Rockstar Games\Grand Theft Auto IV\LaunchGTAIV.exe" -memrestrict 314572800 -novblank Sign in to Rockstar Social Club but then minimise it and run the game with the desktop shortcut. These are not my findings but more detailed instructions can be found in this forum. Hope you have some luck with this as I seem to have...
