pat999
Hey all, Half way through I get asked for disc 2 to be placed into the drive, I do this, it lags and then says that it cannot find the file specified (data3.cab is what it was asking for). Also, Disc 1 appears in my dvd drive in my computer but disc 2 doesnt. it freezes if I try to load it. This is the second copy of the game and I have had the same problem with both. Anyone know what to do to fix this? I can't make an image of the file either as in Daemon / Alcohol 120% when I try to load image from my D:/ drive it freezes too. Help is appreciated, thank you. eggo306
Not 100% sure if this applies to you, but many people have had problems with the 2nd disk installing on Pioneer drives.

pat999
Can you / have you tried the second disk in a different drive? Don't have 2nd drive, and every other disc I have works (Farcry 2, Fallout 3, Crysis) even disc 1.. Alot of people have had this or similar issues but can't seem to resolve it. Sure, but logically the most likely cause is either the disk or your drive. Do you not have a friend's pc that you could test your disk in? You could then maybe rip an image of the disk and use that to complete your installation.

Drag_Drift
I've had this on my other PC. If you're using a pioneer or an HP dvd drive(more exactly the dvd740 series), try what I did. What you'll need: Another PC Alcohol 120% on your PC and that other PC An external hard disk or thumbdrive What to do: Load the disc on another PC. If it works, start up Alcohol and make a backup copy(preferably .iso or .mdf format) of the cd. Transfer the backup file to the thumbdrive or EHD, then slap it on your PC, run alcohol, mount image, install first disc, play 2nd disc when needed then validate, install GFWL, RGSC, enter codes needed to play and unlock the game, start RGSC, download update for GFWL, close RGSC, install GFWL update, start up RGSC again, press play. F*ck that was a mouthful. No cookies to R* for that.

Took ages though, my FAT32 wouldn't let me USB it, so I had to archive it into 10 lots of 700mb archives lol XD

But hey, take what's working, right? Happy gaming. Edited January 11, 2009 by Drag_Drift

PlayItLikeABoss
i had this problem with my lite-on drive. R* made a bad batch or sth. You don't really need to make an image since the 2nd disc just has the data3 file. I just used my NEC drive on laptop to read the disc, then copied the contents to my usb harddrive, then copied the files to my pc. When it asks for data3.cab, just point it to the files and it will install fine.
