WRONG information about how the game runs on PC.... Some guys complain and have a great computer... and other guys...even on the signature, "show" the settings of the game.. with everything... i mean.. EVERYTHING on MAX... Detail...View Distance... Render....Resolution..etc....etc... and give the info that run the game in about 80... 90fps.... And I really dont understand why they lie so bad... because everybody ( Mature ) know.. the game dont get more than 55...60 on the best computers... so.. Whats the point of that? Givin some bad information ? Its really important to all give the right information, and specially the FPS while playing and not from Benchmark because could help alot to find solutions of the crazy performance of the game... and the funny think is that guys that swear having 80fps, complain alot in evey topic of the forum... so.. i really dont get it.... By the way, for NVIDIA users, the 185.20 Driver ( BETA ) from http://www.laptopvideo2go.com/ helped alot in the Graphics ( better details, constrast and smooth edges on stuff ) and the gameplay are now much more stable in my case... Others claim the new drivers don't help at all. I have not tried to install it yet, since I just don't trust any driver from not official sources. Drag_Drift Posted January 7, 2009 Share Posted January 7, 2009 NVidia 185.20 Beta drivers are leaked drivers. If you notice, some games aren't in the list of profiles in the 3d settings library. There are some games that support Ambient Occlusion, like Far Cry 2, Fallout 3, WiC, Assassin's Creed, but not GTA 4. It is just like someone hardened the shadows and turned up the saturation on some parts of the game. It's good to see someone with a GTX280 too. Improved alot for me, specially the Graphics... are now more clean, specially on edges of the shapes... Dont give me much more FPS... give only about 5fps more... but is more stable and render faster the textures. Same here.I installed my first and last Nvidia beta driver and that made my fan go out of controll.It took me weeks to pipe that thing down.But i'm not sure how i managed to do that. Who said he get 80 FPS in this game?I only know about 45FPS MAX.Maybe you misunderstood him and he said he got 80FPS inside buildings.That's really not the same. frodo baggins Posted January 7, 2009 Share Posted January 7, 2009 Well I don't think anyone's lying, and I haven't seen anyone claim they have 80 fps on max settings, but there ARE lots of people with low-end computers who can run it well while others with high-end computers can't, that doesn't mean they're lying, just means there are a lot of problems with the game. Nvidia does not have any 185.20 driver on their website. Set a restore point, install 185.20 drivers from Guru3d.com or TechPoweUp.com (It's OK they're not evil) enjoy leaked beta drivers. If you think the NSA has somehow bugged your PC through leaked unofficial drivers or if they are acting screwy go into system restore and roll it all back. It varies from system to system, just because you didn't have an fps gain doesn't mean that someone else with a similar system won't, even if the reason seems completely irrational.
