Kwiboo
Hey, I get this screen whenever I play: http://img226.imagevenue.com/aAfkjfp01fo1i...s_122_409lo.JPG Computer Specs: Win XP, SP3 Dual Core, 2.x GHZ 1GB Ram nVidia GeForce 8400 GS ---- In the start the graphic looks okay.. all the textures are there, but when I drive to Roman's place all the textures, models, cars etc. dissapears. Can anybody help me, please? I'm not getting any errors at all, I just want the graphic to stay 100 % in the game.. Edit: I just bought it so.. I don't know if I'm missing some patches, drivers etc.! Astyanax
ahhh, this game's crap.... go get Saints Row 2 its out now f*cking troll... To put it simply, your PC is just not going to cut it, my recommendation is double your ram and pick up a cheap yet much better graphics card, something like a 9800GT..etc
Kwiboo
Yes, okay, I guess I'll buy 1GB more of ram, so I have 2GB, and for the graphic card.. 9800GT.. isn't that card kinda - what can I say.. expensive? Anyways, if I upgrade my computer like you said I'll be able to play GTA 4, right?
Gangxxter
1 GB of additional RAM would be a good idea. But before you go out and spend your money make sure, that you installed the latest game patch found here: http://www.rockstargames.com/support/IV/PC/patch/index.html Also make sure that you installed the latest Beta driver for your graphics card. I don't know these nVidia drivers well, but I think this one would be the best for you: http://downloads.guru3d.com/GeForce-ForceW...nload-2154.html I think somebody else can help you more with the best driver for playing GTA IV. Please tell us, which CPU do you have exactly? "2.x" is very vague, the little x can make all the differences. GTA IV really needs a strong CPU to run smoothly, a Quad-Core is recommended. Kwiboo
Well, I've heard that those drivers ruin other games such as Left 4 Dead? And I don't want to ruin other games just because of GTA 4. ---- Anyways, I guess my CPU is pretty slow too, but eh.. I run other games great, like Fallout 3, but I know the GTA 4 system requirements is so damn high. AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4000+, and I don't know what that means besides it's a dual core processor. Oh, and.. it says 2.11 GHZ on www.canirunit.com, but rated at 6.0 GHZ rate.. I don't know that that means. Don't you think a 1GB GeForce 9500GT would work, of course with more rams.. etc. Edit: ...or a 512GB NVIDIA GeForce 9600 GT (I guess that one is better..?) frodo baggins
type dxdiag into run and post your specs, a 2.0 processor is very different to a 2.4 and that can make all the difference this is a CPU intensive game, and even if you have tons of ram and a great graphics card (which you don't ) the CPU will bottleneck it

And I don't want to ruin other games just because of GTA 4. ---- Anyways, I guess my CPU is pretty slow too, but eh.. I run other games great, like Fallout 3, but I know the GTA 4 system requirements is so damn high. Where can I see the last "x"? Because when I open CCleaner it says: AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 4000+, and I don't know what that means besides it's a dual core processor. Don't you think a 1GB GeForce 9500GT would work, of course with more rams.. etc. Edit: ...or a 512GB NVIDIA GeForce 9600 GT (I guess that one is better..?) An Athlon X2 4000+ is far too slow. I don't know the exact clock speed of this processor, but I have an X2 4400+ which runs at 2.2 Ghz. I managed it to overclock my CPU to 2.48 Ghz in order to play GTA IV at 800x600 and everything to lowest at 12-20 Frames.. GTA IV is heavily CPU depended. In your case a faster graphics card would be a waste of money. I'm sorry, but that's the way it is, you're CPU (and mine too) is too weak. Don't compare GTA IV with games such as Crysis or Fallout 3. All these games are graphics card dependend but GTA IV is CPU depended. Just look around in Liberty City, there are so many cars driving around, so many peds doing so many different (and sometimes also crazy^^) things, there is this fabulous physics engine, and and and. All these things need a lot of CPU power. Games like Fallout 3 or Crysis don't take place in such a "real-breathing" world, they only have awesome graphics with a soulless game behind. But you're not complaining about poor performance, you have some graphical glitches. Could you re-uploade the screenshot? The link you posted above doesn't work. I'm pretty sure, your problems will be solved with the latest beta driver and I don't think, they ruin other games. But just do a little google-work and you will see, if there are some known issues. So, you have to decide: L4D or GTA IV?

I would assume low as your videocard was sh*t the day it was released, let alone how it performs against newer cards today. Ironic that not even you meet the minimal requirements, you can't even play the game on low settings and somehow this gives you the right to be an annoyance? Don't you have a bridge to maintain? And yeah, I would recommend 3gigs at the least, i have 8 and my memory usage can crawl up to 64% at times depending on how long I play. Hell no that is not a driver issue, that is a f*cken Rockstar issue. I took the picture myself, I had 4 errors when first trying to play that piece of crap game they call GTA 4. First, error code, no description of problem. Had to look up on web, needed 3.5 net frames installed. 2nd, error code when started up, again no description of problem, searched the web, installation problem with Windows-Live, reinstalled. 3rd Time startup, error code, no description! Look up, SP3 must be installed, regardless! Ok, now no errors, finally make it into GTA 4, and first thing that loads is that piece of sh*t they call great graphics. THAT IS MY PICTURE I TOOK, WORST GAMING EXPERIENCE, BEYOND BELIEF! I want a refund and I want it now, you f*cken stole my money! I never seen any other game so poorly programmed and yet so hyped about being so good. It doesn't matter if you get new ram, new motherboard, new processor, new anything. This f*cken game just doesn't run properly! Don't waste your money trying to get this game to work. Your better off buying something that does and have fun with that. Otherwise Cockstar will get your money and do nothing for you. SP3 has some problems SP2 does not, and hell no I also wouldn't even consider going to VISTA, let's all upgrade to that! Only I seem to know because I have 10 different computers and have done all the updating, fixing, and left and right sh*t stuff you guys have no idea exists. I bet you guys even use virus protections, again which is for NOOBS. Your inexperienced compared to me! 2.) Ram has nothing to do with visual textures, idiot. 3.) People that experience the same problem I did, are not always going to search for the answer, look through the errors, and steam doesn't tell you what you will need as requirements, 3.5 net frames, windows-live update, etc. So again, I'm crying? I think a lot of people that know little about their computer would be the one's crying. A lot of you think these problems are something else, but I will keep saying it, it's Rockstar's. They could of created a game that worked out of the box. A game without bloat wire. A game that worked properly like the xbox 360 version. For God Sake, if they made a real working emulator and you played the 360 version, it would be extremely smooth and fast. In most cases it looks better than the pc version considering we have to use low/mid most of the time to get the game to stop shutter. If we have to put 2 gbs of video memory on this game, and still are forced to low/mid graphics, there is something wrong!
