Cross Platform

Would it help the multi or be a waste of R*'s time. Would it be good to implement a cross Xbox live/GFWL system so you can play with more people? I believe personally yes cos my friend owns an Xbox and i own a PC and it'd be awesome to play together but R* doesnt want a cross platform game... atm. Voice your thoughts and make them long and loud so we could on the offchance get a message from Rockstar ph34r.gif

It's not a bad idea, but I guess it's hard to realize it, would take much development time and of course MONEY.

There are just a few games with cross-platform support out there, the only ones I know are Lost Planet Colonies and Shadowrun.

Yeah but those Cross platforms are sh*t tounge.gif. To really realise the scope of how a cross platform multi-player game will work you need a big name title with a developer with alot of money to invest in it. This would be ideal for R* to try as they have the money and now a good multiplayer fan base.

Erm no it would be more unbalanced because the PC users have a control device that is perfectly designed for aiming, ie the mouse. This is one of the key problems with cross platform multiplayer. It can only be done if you either gimp the mouse control scheme or give the joypad users an unfair advantage (such as auto aim).

Dammit, I just made this point in another thread without having read this post first.

100%, absolutely agree. No way anybody using a controller could possibly have the control of a mouse. Not saying a great shooter couldn't keep up but really, there is no comparing a joystick (proper gaming) with a mouse (lulz, silly n00bs).

I would love to game with XBL gamers of course, I can only imagine the thrills I'd get from microphone griefing the XBL people devil.gif

I would have to agree with the poster who stated that the xbox gamers would be at a serious disadvantage without auto aim enabled. I do not like auto aim as sometimes the computer will pick what it thinks is the best target as to the one that i know is the best target. The time lost trying to reselect the target that the computer passed over can and usually is the difference between continuing the fight or respawnning.

I agree w/you and Jude except you forget one more thing. Turning around on console is very slow compared to a mouse. That is a huge disadvantage for console users.
